This is the perfect rogue-like game to play when you're craving something to make your brain work, but don't have the time or energy for something too involved. Here you make a build, then hold down one button for 30-45 mins while watching to see how it holds up. - - I don't 100% a lot of games (and I still have a long way to go for that on this one), but this is one of the few that I am trying to. The achievements, which are to win a run as each of the separate "Prestige classes," represent the most concrete goal you're going to get. That might not sound too appealing at first, but this is one of the few games that uses achievements well - as incentives to experiment instead of just just a carrot on a stick to keep you grinding. The balance between the limitations of winning as a particular class and being able to build everything else about the character any way you want, makes each achievement a unique story to you and a recognition of your individual accomplishment. With all that said, there is some genuinely interesting world building too if you stop to read through the item & location descriptions: short sentences that ride the line between gibberish and poetry. The game leans into the most Lovecraftian parts of the Conan stories to create something, alongside the ascii-like graphics, more than the sum of its parts; It's subtle, focused, feverish, and mythic.

게임이 너무 난해해서, 내가 뭘 하는지조차 알기가 어렵다. 그리고 ui 의 불친절함이 심각한 레벨. 저 옛날 도스 게임 시절이 떠오른다.
:^)
Amazing. I wish there were more diversity in the items, though. Most items are if you deal X type damage, deal 25% of that damage as Y type of damage. I love most of the gods and classes and races, i just wish there were more items or just more diversity.
Very good, wish there was more options to make a viable build but I still had Hours of playtime making whatever build I felt like. Very fun no real complaints
Bastante disfrutable aunque el precio es algo alto
Unintuitive, clunky, old-school, punishing, difficult, and allows you to fail. That's the good part. There is a mildly engaging and addictive gameplay loop but I will see if it becomes enticing as I learn more of the depth of this game. Unfortunately there's just too much information to dive into to determine whether a build is successful or not, so you're basically forced to try and fail until something works. I can see potential here, but I don't know if the gameplay counts as fun. The old school theme is at least appealing. Thumb sideways. Want to like it, but not fully there yet. Update: After a handful more hours played and a couple wins, I am still mid on this one. Danger and pivotal moments are not communicated well and the game suffers as a result. There is not much to indicate whether you'll be fine going through a stage or if you'll get instantly 1-shot, and when that happens, the death feels unceremonious and uneventful. Conversely, winning also feels similarly unceremonious and uneventful, to the extent where the entirety of the game progression feels pretty flat. The build variety is thought-provoking at first but most runs end up feeling pretty samey (a pitfall of many indie roguelikes). I still like the aesthetic and retro nostalgia, and I'd like to enjoy this game more than I do, but I would struggle to recommend this to anyone. It wouldn't be fair to say that it's a bad game, and there's a lot to like here, but ultimately playing it doesn't inspire much joy.
