very fun and very cute, but I BEG you make hats and face accessories (eg. glasses) separate, that way we can have even more combinations.
Pat the Cat is a relaxing desktop companion created and published by okfinegames, offering a cozy alternative to traditional idle games by focusing on companionship rather than challenge. Instead of presenting demanding objectives or complicated systems, the game places an adorable virtual cat on your desktop that quietly accompanies you throughout your day. Whether you're working, studying, browsing the web, or simply taking a break, your feline friend remains nearby, creating a comforting atmosphere through simple interactions and charming animations. The experience is designed to blend naturally into everyday computer use, making it appealing to players who enjoy low-pressure games with a wholesome personality. The core gameplay revolves around caring for your cat and gradually building a collection of customization items. Players can pet, feed, and play with their companion while earning purr points through regular interaction. These points unlock a variety of cosmetic rewards, including different appearances, hats, accessories, toys, and cozy resting places that allow each player to personalize their pet. The progression system remains satisfying without becoming repetitive or grind-heavy, rewarding consistent engagement while preserving the game's laid-back pacing. Every unlock gives players another reason to return, even if only for a few minutes each day. A major strength of Pat the Cat is how unobtrusive it remains. Unlike many idle games that constantly request attention or flood the screen with notifications, this title respects the player's time. The cat behaves like a quiet companion, occasionally inviting interaction while otherwise entertaining itself through playful animations, naps, stretches, and curious behavior. This thoughtful design makes the game especially suitable for people who spend long hours at their computers and would appreciate a cheerful presence without sacrificing productivity. It succeeds in capturing the comforting feeling of having a pet nearby without becoming distracting. Visually, the game embraces a colorful and expressive art style that gives the cat plenty of personality. Smooth animations help every movement feel lively, from playful antics to peaceful sleeping poses. Combined with gentle sound effects and soft purring, the presentation creates an inviting environment that reinforces the game's relaxing nature. While the graphics are intentionally simple, they are polished and expressive enough to make the companion feel alive, encouraging players to check in frequently just to see what their cat is doing. The interactive features may be lightweight compared to larger simulation games, but they effectively support the overall experience. Small activities, playful interactions, and responsive animations provide enough variety to keep the game engaging without overwhelming players with complicated mechanics. Rather than chasing endless progression systems, Pat the Cat focuses on delivering consistent moments of warmth and enjoyment. That design philosophy gives it a unique identity within the idle and virtual pet genres, appealing to players who value atmosphere and companionship over traditional gameplay depth. Pat the Cat is ultimately a celebration of simplicity executed with care. It understands exactly what it wants to be and delivers that vision with confidence. Players looking for deep strategy or fast-paced action may find the gameplay too minimal, but anyone searching for a relaxing desktop companion will likely appreciate its thoughtful design, rewarding customization, and soothing presentation. By combining accessible mechanics with genuine charm, okfinegames has created an experience that transforms ordinary computer sessions into something a little more comforting and enjoyable. Update more cats and costumes! I really love this game! Highly recommended! I love it so much! I hope there will be a feature for customizing cats in the future. Provide a simple template image so that players can easily create their own cats!
Incredible. May sometimes cause minor lag, but otherwise just an incredibly adorable game. Genuinely just makes me happy. If you got nothing else to buy but have some money to spend on steam? I would recommend getting this.
🐾 PAT the CAT is purrfect!
Finally got around to writing this review...) This is an incredibly charming and adorable game. It's purrfect! I bought it on release day for both myself and my sister :) (Steam says I've only played for a few hours... don't believe it. Mine launches with Windows, so most of the time isn't even tracked. I've spent way more time with this little furball)

🐱 Why it's so charming
The art style is absolutely gorgeous! It fits this kind of game perfectly, and everything feels exactly the way you'd want a little desktop pet to feel. There's already a ton of content right from the start. I really enjoyed all the references, little jokes, and fun details hidden among the unlockable items. Their prices (all purchased with in-game currency only, of course) feel perfectly balanced. Even so, after just three weeks since launch—and without really trying—I somehow managed to collect almost every accessory for my cat :) (which honestly isn't a downside at all)

🎣 So... what can your cat actually do?
Your cat has plenty of things to do:

🎣 Fishing
🧸 Catching toys
⌨️ Typing on your keyboard
🤖 Riding around on a robot vacuum
✨ ...and so much more!
1110p4?032092oooooooooooooo[[[[[ (Sorry, my real cat wanted to demonstrate the keyboard feature.) The best part is that none of these activities are distracting, and you never have to do them. (BUT YOU'LL REALLY WANT TO. PAWSITIVELY) Most of the time, though, your little cat just lounges around, purrs, and throws tiny hearts at you :333

❤️ Final thoughts
From what I can tell, the developers are working incredibly hard to keep the game in great shape. Wishing you all the best, guys! Ilya, if you're reading this — hi! *slides a beer across the bar* 🍺

I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Don't paws for too long—go get yourself a little desktop companion, and of course...
🐈 PAT the CAT!
activate that one game where the cat can destroy a toy if you click, then go on a rhythm game (like osu) trust me. Just do it.
I have an allergy to cats and now I can finally pat the cat!
There's something so comforting about having a pet that walks around your desktop while you work. Really simple idea that's well executed... BUT i'd love to see much more. Don't care if it's DLC or updates that raise the price, but I could easily see this as something that can expand into much more. Be it with additional mini games, more customization, more detailed interactions, productivity tools (like timers, reminders, etc.) or whatever else. Sky's the limit 🤯 As for now, i'm more than satisfied with a cat that keeps me company while I work for $5.
