Desktop Fishing is a cozy idle game that sits in the corner of your screen. Go about your usual desk work (or don't) while your frog buddy catches fish, discovers new outfits, and unlocks fishing spots.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 7 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

471 hours to acquire all of the achievements. I let it run, start to finish, I ensured I followed all the upgrades, efficiently and effectively. The last 3-4 achievements are simply "catch x amount of fish". This is not real content. I own pretty much -ALL- the 'cosy desktop fishing idle' games. Fish to Dish, Idle Fishing, Cast & Chill, etc., etc., you name it. This is one of the ones that you pay money for, yet, it is without a doubt the one with the least amount of entertaining or engaging content. You buy clothes for your frog, the clothes are REALLY lacklustre and minimal, you wait for achievements. There is no content in this game. The only thing you really have to do in this game is get all of the achievements. It's not necessarily a terrible game, I mean, it's bare bones a game at all, just, watch while the frog catches fish, and click 2 quests a day. The amount of 'areas' is limited. There is REALLY not that many fish available either. It's SUPER bare bones. It's not worth the money. Even though it's not a lot of money, it's still too expensive for what you get. Now, 471 hours. This is a ridiculous amount of time to expect people to be dedicated to a game simply to finish the achievements. With no content, barely any engagement, and still want $5 or so. There are SO many games doing what this game portrays itself as, better. Don't waste your money. Wait until this one shows up for free and add it to the Steam Library and post the head-nodding cat gif, but don't spend money on it. Disappointing. I decided to spend the full time on finishing the game at about 200 hours ~ 25 achievements in. Just to determine how long they expect you to care for. If I didn't have a thing about getting 100% achievements, this would've been refunded. Meh.

*Desktop Fishing* is exactly the kind of weird little idea that somehow ends up being way more relaxing than it has any right to be. It sits there quietly while you do other things, and every now and then it pulls you back in with a bite — literally. The loop is simple, almost minimal, but that’s the charm. It doesn’t try to overwhelm you with systems or pressure. Instead, it turns fishing into a calm background activity that still manages to feel rewarding. Watching what you catch, upgrading a bit here and there, and just letting it run in the background gives it this oddly cozy presence on your screen. It’s one of those games that doesn’t demand your full attention but still manages to make itself part of your day. Perfect for when you want something low-effort but still satisfying to check in on. If you enjoy chill, idle-style games with a bit of personality, this one does exactly what it says on the tin — and does it well.
Too much time requirement for an idle game, only get this if you want a real timekiller.
Devs that listen to player feedback are amazing. Thanks for the new idle mode!
A friend paid a witch to turn me into a frog and now I'll spend the rest of my days fishing.
