About
Passant is a chess roguelike, where the rules can be twisted and unique pieces can be used to change the game.

Build your board by earning powerful pieces with unique rules, items to change the tide of battle, and badges that can twist all the rules to deliver victory. Beat match after match of increasing difficulty until you can beat the final boss and become a grandmaster.

Expands on the rules of chess:
Unique pieces, such as the Archbishop, Dragon Knight, Dragon King and more!
Twists on traditional chess, such as Atomic Chess, Reflecting Bishops and Zombie Pawns.
Usable items that can give you an advantage, such as freezing a piece, demoting a piece to a pawn, or promoting one of yours to a queen!

There are also challenge modes and increasing levels of AI difficulty, so beginners and grandmasters alike can enjoy the game.

fun if you like chess
way better then normal chess its like a fun rougelike with badges and upgrades nd a lot of cool differnt chess pieces i think like double the amount in normal chess
Peak game, chess go brr
atomic chess go boom
A good time and probably about and in depth as you can go with a chess rouge-like, though once you get a board full of queens it gets pretty straight forward from there, just got to work on getting there.
Great game but has cheese strats
Can recommend. Needs more content (i.e. setups and scenarios), but the developer is creating it at the time of my writing and the setups already available are promising. (Mods by the community anyday?) Multiple conditions are a breath of fresh air compared to other chess roguelikes where checkmating is the only way to win leading to very exhausting campaigns. Passant instead manages to preseve the light-mooded arcade atmosphere which is a huge plus to people not playing chess on a regular basis outside of this.
游戏太好玩了,强力推荐!
It is chess Balatro, but with actual chess. Unlike Balatro which tosses out most of the game it is based on, in Passant you still play chess. It borrows mostly the random Roguelite upgrades and stage system from Balatro. There are more win conditions than normal, such as winning by consecutive checks or taking all non king pieces, etc., and of course fairy pieces/mechanics. You also have the ability to set up your starting positions, so you can live your fantasy of having queens/rooks on the second row. It can be fun to set up a one/two move checkmate, though these only happen in the early stages usually.
Very fun if you can play chess already
