Parkan: Iron Strategy is a kind of RTS game but you can also control mechs for some FPS style action, learning curve is steep but there is a lot to do, or you could just watch autoplay which exists? https://youtu.be/GbqpZgHi0YU

Pretty good
This was one of the first ever pc games I played. At the time it was truly amazing to me and a tough game. Even now its still confusing at times tho I know my way around a keyboard a lot more since then. This game is still fun and a joy to play even today. Bring me back to the good old days.
Parkan: Iron Strategy, developed and published by GameXP.com, is an ambitious hybrid that attempts to merge real-time strategy, first-person action, and mech simulation into a single cohesive experience. Even years after its release, it stands out for how boldly it reaches beyond the conventions of its time. Instead of locking the player into a single perspective, the game allows you to shift between commanding an army from a strategic overview and stepping directly into the battlefield as an active participant. This dual approach gives the game a unique identity, offering both the satisfaction of large-scale planning and the immediacy of hands-on combat. The strategic layer forms the backbone of the experience, where players are responsible for building bases, managing resources, and producing units to maintain control over contested territories. There is a surprising amount of depth in how these systems interact, particularly in the ability to customize units. Designing your own combat machines by selecting different components and loadouts adds a layer of personalization that encourages experimentation. This flexibility allows players to approach battles in different ways, whether focusing on brute force, mobility, or tactical efficiency. Over time, this system becomes one of the game’s most rewarding aspects, as it gives a sense of ownership over your army and its capabilities. What truly sets Parkan: Iron Strategy apart is the ability to step away from the command interface and directly control individual units, including powerful mechs. This shift in perspective transforms the experience, turning what would otherwise be a traditional RTS into something far more immersive. Instead of simply issuing orders, you can take an active role in combat, engaging enemies firsthand and influencing the outcome of battles in real time. This blending of macro and micro gameplay creates moments that feel dynamic and unpredictable, as you constantly move between overseeing the battlefield and participating in it. However, the game’s ambition also introduces a number of challenges. The complexity of its systems can be overwhelming, especially for players who are not already familiar with both strategy and simulation mechanics. The game provides limited guidance, leaving much of the learning process to trial and error. The interface, in particular, shows its age, lacking the clarity and convenience found in more modern strategy games. Managing units and navigating menus can feel cumbersome, which can slow down the pace and make certain tasks more frustrating than they need to be. Combat, while conceptually engaging, is somewhat inconsistent in execution. Piloting a mech or engaging in direct combat can be exciting, especially when you feel the impact of your actions on the battlefield. However, the controls and feedback lack precision, and certain mechanics—such as targeting and movement—can feel awkward or unreliable. This can lead to moments where success feels more dependent on persistence than skill, which detracts from the otherwise immersive experience. Visually, the game reflects the technological limitations of its era, with simple models and environments that lack the detail expected from modern titles. Despite this, there is still a sense of scale and atmosphere that comes through in its design. The sci-fi setting is conveyed effectively, and the variety of environments helps maintain a degree of visual interest, even if the overall presentation feels dated. The game’s charm lies less in its graphical fidelity and more in how it uses its visuals to support its ambitious design. Pacing is another area where the game can feel uneven. Balancing the demands of strategic planning with the immediacy of direct control requires constant attention, and without a streamlined system to support this, the experience can become exhausting during longer sessions. The game occasionally struggles to maintain a consistent flow, with periods of intense engagement followed by slower, more methodical stretches that can disrupt immersion. Despite its flaws, Parkan: Iron Strategy remains a fascinating and unique experience. It represents a bold attempt to push the boundaries of genre design, combining elements that are rarely seen together even today. While it does not fully succeed in refining all of its ideas, the sheer scope of its ambition makes it stand out as a memorable and intriguing title. In the end, the game is best suited for players who are willing to invest time in understanding its systems and are curious about unconventional design. It may not offer the polish or accessibility of more modern titles, but it provides a distinctive blend of strategy and action that is still compelling for those willing to look past its rough edges. Rating: 7/10
Slaps harder than my step dad. 🔥
