Vale a pena.

After I finally made it to the library I met.. whatever that thing was, promptly shat myself, exited the game and watched videos of cats for 10 minutes. I have never been more afraid of nintendo looking game. 10/10 would never read again thanks to this game
Paracom is a deeply flawed game, to the point of seeming unfinished. While the combat system itself is serviceable, everything around it makes even the enemy encounters unpaletable. The first and most apparent problem is the visuals and interface. Paracom is an RPGmaker game that has a reach exceeding its grasp, where the vague tactical meets paranormal aesthetic creates a very jagged and bleeding together combination of greys and blacks. this is further aggravated by shading and other obscuring effects from trying to create low light and fog visuals. all of the dark and muddy main coloration is then contrasted by the highlighting of the menus and interfaces being in a high saturation sort of cyan, which wouldn't really be a problem, if it weren't for the fact that all of the framing and art assets all seem to be highly pixelated and low resolution. This also then leads into the designs of the menus, interfaces, and interactions themselves. Almost every action you will try to take will be marred by poorly programmed or designed menu navigation, what a given key does at a given menu, or incredibly unclear instructions. You will go into a menu to equip/activate the laser pointer, something that for all intents and purposes should have more of an ongoing passive state like armor, but then every time you interact with something in the environment, which you will be doing constantly, it will unequip and you will have to go into the menu to re-equip it. The final cap to all of this is the setting and environmental design. You are given a vague idea of how you are playing some sort of vague agent of a vague and totally definitely super cool secret (or not so secret considering your early interaction with law enforcement agents) agency that deals with vague paranormal threats in a vague effort to deal with vague magic or super science or something. One will of course notice my repeated use of the word vague, which would seem to indicate a lack of information or contextualization. While this is true, it is also juxta positioned by the fact that the game is still content to have the squad over explain what they are doing, constantly pointing out how their mission is to go to a site and deal with whatever is there, and then when they get to the site announcing that they are at the site and will go further into the site and deals with what they find, and then when they go further inside announcing that the monsters in there make the already assumed dangerous situation in fact dangerous, and so they will have to deal with the dangerous situation, and so they will have to go further inside to deal with the stuff inside, and you get the idea. This of course is far easier said than done, as I had to spend something like five minutes wandering around a circuitous and incredibly hard to discern blob of fog, cliffs, foreground tree canopies, and invisible walls to navigate from the first mission's landing site in the forest to the actual police barricade of the building I was to investigate. And of course, there was nothing in the forest. Ultimately, Paracom is an extremely half baked product that feels like it should have been some browser game one comes across back in the latter 2000s, not a full paid for product on Steam.
Paracom is an indie RPG / Survival horror game with a great atmosphere. It boasts classic top-down map exploration and turn-based first-person battles. The game has a lot of heart, some humor sprinkled in, and a great sense of dread and danger while you're exploring the maze-like monster-filled corridors. I really like the characters, and I've been enjoying my time with the game. While it is not perfect, I highly recommend it!
Absolute Blast! Literally! I enjoyed RPG elements combating the different enemies, different weapon choices, and style of the game. Most exciting for me, I enjoyed the story so far. I like learning about the anomaly and uncovering the mystery. The added element of looking for the missing persons kept me striving to continue the search. Great fun and the fact the story can change based on decisions adds a great element to replay again. Fantastic!
A turn-based RPG with a modern military style feels quite fresh. The combat is not just about shooting mindlessly. You need to adjust your tactics depending on the enemies you face. Together with its well-built world setting, the game feels much deeper. The sci-fi UI design and the oppressive atmosphere are also worth mentioning, as they give the game a very distinctive style. If you enjoy tactical RPGs, supernatural themes, or indie games with a rough but charming spirit, this game is worth trying.
