Pankapu has a decent art style, but its level design has serious flaws. Non-boss levels are super homogeneous. Cheap traps show up way too often and casual players can easily get stuck. The three guardian forms are creative, but their traits r vague and the strategy is pretty weak.
Good cuz its free and pretty graphics but the controls they should pay me to play it

Pankapu is one of those platformers that immediately stands out because of its art style. The hand-drawn visuals, vibrant colors, and dreamlike atmosphere give the game a lot of charm, and at times it genuinely feels like you’re playing through an animated fantasy storybook. The soundtrack and overall presentation do a great job of creating a relaxing but slightly melancholic atmosphere. Gameplay-wise, Pankapu is a fairly traditional 2D action platformer with combat, exploration, and collectible hunting. As you progress, you unlock different Aegis forms that change your abilities and combat style, which helps keep the gameplay more interesting throughout the adventure. The game is at its best when exploration, platforming, and abilities all come together smoothly. Unfortunately, it also has moments where clunky controls and awkward difficulty spikes get in the way. Several reviews and players mentioned that some sections feel harder for the wrong reasons, especially during enemy-heavy platforming segments The good: - Beautiful hand-drawn art style - Fantastic atmosphere and presentation - Charming fantasy world - Soundtrack fits the dreamlike setting well - Different Aegis forms keep gameplay varied - Exploration and collectibles are enjoyable - Boss fights can feel satisfying - Good mix of platforming and combat - Strong old-school platformer vibe The bad: - Controls can feel clunky at times - Difficulty spikes feel frustrating occasionally - Some enemy placements feel cheap - Level design becomes repetitive later on - Combat lacks depth - Story can become confusing - Loading screens after deaths get annoying - Certain sections drag on longer than needed - Doesn’t do much mechanically that feels truly unique Overall, Pankapu is a charming and visually beautiful platformer that clearly has a lot of passion behind it. It’s rough around the edges and occasionally frustrating, but if you enjoy classic 2D action-platformers with strong presentation and atmosphere, there’s still a lot to like here.
垃圾游戏,键盘适配做的更屎一样,config里面卡了十分钟,还把鼠标隐藏了
Its frustrating to play, just a worse version of hollow knight
Achei mediano.
"Pankapu" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a bog standard platformer brawler with some poorly done plot about facing a childs nightmares. Gameplay is mostly just mild precision platforming and sword combat with a gimmick around being able to transform to get different abilities. I guess even for the keen PC platformer enthusiasts out there, yes, both of you, you should know the controls absolutely suck, and there's no mouse input on a PC game, so that's utterly unacceptable. This is basically a 10 year old console game that never got released on consoles. Well, this should be no surprise, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony have QA departments where Valve has Steam Direct. The one thing I can applaud this game for is insulting every single amateur developer out there by showing you can actually make a platformer without using pixelcrap "art" as a crutch. In the modern era of high quality bleeding edge PC gaming, these kinds of flat, lazy, lackluster platformers just don't cut it. Platforming is a mostly dead genre for a reason, the industry moved on. I was there when games like DooM took the world by storm. It's the era of 3D gaming. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. The game features simple looking 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. I think it's worth pointing out the artwork itself is okay, but people don't spend thousands on a gaming rig to look at 2D sprites in 2026. To make matters worse, there's no mouse input, despite this being sold on PC as if it were a PC game. This is unacceptable and somewhat insulting to PC gamers. It's a good demonstration of the poor attitude the developer has towards PC gamers, and this attitude has resulted in yet another defect in this game. Those technical issues put this game beneath what is expected from a contemporary, professionally developed PC game. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Is this game one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Pankapu has the ridiculous price of $12 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. But it doesn't stop there, half the content in the game is locked behind extra DLC you have to pay for... this isn't acceptable. It brings this crappy 10 year old console reject on PC to the full price of $19, for which you can get any number of recent AAA games on sale, so that pricing sits somewhere between delusion and cash grab. That's not okay. For comparison, the $19 asking price for this game could get you games like "Divinity: Original Sin 2", "Valheim" or "Cuphead". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. The quality problems and defects with this game makes the asking price totally unrealistic. It's impossible to recommend this to gamers here on Steam.
