Put your headphones on and follow a classic romantic story accompanied by art in different styles. Despite the fact that I had to click on text in order to advance the game, I never felt as like I was playing a visual novel. It is so distinctive that it practically requires a new definition. Another difference is that you are not drowned in a wall of words that serves simply to prolong the plot. Fair enough, there isn't much of a narrative in this game. It features a traditional love tale where a man falls in love with a woman who is already promised to another. All this with words of a painter who is writing letters to his friend. Words are accompanied by paintings or images that come in a variety of styles and themes. Some components in the picture move or let you interact with them because a static image would be quite dull. You might need to drag the mouse to paint something or bring the sun down to make it night. Most interactions are necessary to advance the game. Moving the mouse over areas of interest will quickly reveal them; the default quill icon will change as a result. Although there are a few rare bonus interaction spots that grant you an achievement, I would have preferred a little more substance within each chapter. There are more than 20 chapters, but only a handful of them have any sort of interactive element. They also don't last very long. You can quickly read through a chapter in five minutes if you skim the text and don't pause to contemplate the artwork. On the other hand, you don’t pick these type of games for speedrunning. Music is another enjoyable companion to the words. Various piano and string melodies will enliven the scenes and immerse you in the setting. I can't say that I have a musical talent; some might sound too similar for my tastes. Replaying unlocked chapters is possible via the main menu's gallery. This is helpful if you missed something and want to grab every achievement.

Müzikler o kadar güzel ki, dinlemeye doyamayacaksınız (özellikle Satie'nin Gnossienne No.1 parçasının taş kalpli diyeceğiniz bir insanı bile etkileyebilmesi mümkün). Resimler o kadar güzel ki, elinizi F12 tuşundan çekemeyeceksiniz. Hikaye -hüzünlü olmasına rağmen- o kadar sürükleyici ki, okudukça hep "bir sonraki bölümde ne olacak" diye merak içinde kıvranacaksınız... Kısacası; edebiyatı, müziği veya resmi seviyorsanız, alın, pişman olmayacaksınız. Interesting adapted story, beautiful and animated art, and great music. For fans of interactive novels and/or fans of the Romantic era! While some parts could be more polished, it faithfully and greatly adapts the epistolary novel that influenced the Romantic movement into game form with nice remixed music from the era and the classical paintings coming to life at a click from your mouse. The interactivity within the novel is restrained but never feels boring giving life to the drawing on display. Overall, would absolutely recommend this to anyone just to experience the life of the man presented to the audience. I can not wait for more from Mad Cream Games!

Painting Werther is a unique experience and the wait has been worth it. I've been hooked from the start. If you want to play a game with both beautiful visuals and music and are interested in the origins of romance as we know it today you MUST play this game.

No hay palabras para describir lo que acabo de vivir. Painting Werther es la demostración de como el videojuego no solo es un medio de entretenimiento, pues su mayor poder es el de transmitir emociones y sentimientos. El cómo no solo puede adaptar o interpretar una obra sino además enriquecerla y dotarla de vida como nunca antes se había visto. Esta adaptación es una oda a la obra de Goethe, llevándonos de la mano por sus paisajes. Representando a la perfección a través de las pinturas los pensamientos e inquietudes del pobre joven Werther. Absolutamente nada de lo que pueda decir le hace justicia. 10/10

Novela cortita pero cuya lectura he disfrutado más de lo esperado. Tanto el apartado visual como el musical son de 10, lo cual no es sorprendente, pero el como está todo tan bien seleccionado y como queda todo tan uniforme, hacen que la historia sea más disfrutable de leer. Es como una macedonia, puedes disfrutar cada fruta de forma individual, pero cuando las juntas los sabores sobresalen más. En definitiva, recomiendo el juego si eres fan de las novelas interactivas. Además, funciona en steam deck,así que se puede leer en la cama tranquilamente.

Me parece una experiencia, con todo un entorno muy artístico, la música, los diálogos, el movimiento y sonido de los cuadros, me encanta como están plasmados poco a poco. A ver si saco más tiempo para seguir jugando, pero es un juego para disfrutarlo y que da mucha paz, es como leer un libro, pero mejor.
