[Notice]
We are currently experiencing an issue where lighting is not rendering correctly on certain AMD and Intel GPUs.
While we plan to address this in a future update, we cannot guarantee a definitive fix at this time. Please note that the game environment may appear dark due to the lack of lighting. If you are affected by this issue, you may request a refund through Steam Support.
Pastel provides players with psychological fear of underwater or above-water objects.
Players explore a blue space that is both beautiful and terrifying, looking for ways to survive.
Sometimes you'll have to solve puzzles to clear your way, and sometimes you'll have to fight creepy creatures.
You can enjoy the story by reading past logs scattered around the world.
Inspired by submechanophobia and liminal space.
Features: Switch between FPS and TPS perspectives at will.
VHS effects (noise, blur, fisheye lens effect, etc.) can be disabled from the pause menu.

Nice atmosphere. Good job capturing the pool rooms vibe on the first level. Unfortunately, that's as far as I went, seeing as you're forced to play through "level 1 expanded" immediately after getting through it the first time. And as far as I can tell, it's pretty much the same pool rooms environment with the same enemies. What exactly makes it "expanded", I'm not sure. Getting through it once was enough for me and I really didn't feel like playing through it again to find out. Not that it was bad, necessarily, but imagine spending 45 minutes or so to progress through the first level of ANY game, and then being told that you have to do it again just to see what level 2 looks like. Fairly baffling decision. GAMEPLAY: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGC4XRQlNBg
Preambule: the game is pretty good for what it is, I'd say *it's worth the money* HOWEVER there is a lot of stuff to work through and change as well, that's why I leave a *bad review*. If you're reading this and you don't mind spending *how little* the game costs it will occupy you for 2 or 3 hours if you're into liminal space. Interesting liminal space horror game that does some things right and some wrong. One thing I really dislike is that the game starts off immediately with 2 jumpscares almost back to back, but why I dislike this is because they actually weren't present there during the 2025 February Next Fest demo. I'm not sure why they were added because the game already does a good job setting the mood so ruining it by adding jumpscares right off the bat that are not needed is weird. Another issue is that the game starts you off playing the pools level and once you finish it it then locks all other levels behind replaying the "Expanded" pools level. To be completely fair the Expanded Chapter 1 (how it's called) is way cooler than the normal version, it actually captures the liminal space feel of the poolrooms/backrooms (the next stage is quite literally the backrooms). I would either advise starting with the expanded section or do the design the other way around entirely, have the player play all the "normal" chapters first and once they're done with them then they can play the "Expanded" version to check out how much more they have to offer. Another issue I have with the game which I already touched upon is the game can't really "decide" on it's identity. It starts off with jumpscares but then has you wander through large half empty areas and find your way through them, but at the same time it throws a ton of enemies at you which ruin the mood of the area, especially considering you can fight *most* of them. Brief feedback: "BLACKOUT" chapter seems like a fun idea but adding a Weeping Angel right from the start, who always knows your position, whom you can't even outrun (without using exploits), to an area that is literally pitch black is not really a fun idea. If the game can iron out it's identity and how it presents progression (and obviously get finished) it seems it will be a pretty good game in time. At the moment it has a lot of problems, which you can look past and still enjoy it, but they still need fixing.
たぶんぜんぜん関係ないと思うが、雰囲気的にЯoad to Day After Tomorrow...
play as an anime girl and escape the backrooms, survive with food and water ammo is low puzzles are easy keypads are tiny. use your weapon to attack enemies they are really gross .overall experience was great 10/10. not too buggy in early access maybe 1 game crash but game is easy and fun to learn.
i enjoyed my time with this game
This may be one of the greatest Pool/Backroom type of game: it has weapons. U can fight the enemies and kill all but one. I'm not a fan of running away from enemies. U can even play in 1st person or 3rd person. But all is not good, as there are survival mechanics, the dreadful thirst and hunger. I beat the first two levels, the ones available at the time of my review. There are 2 other, one that is mostly in the dark and it starts with an invincible enemy following u the entire way. Make the hunger/thirst and the invincible enemy optional, and this is a great game.
