Overload

Want Descent? This is Descent. With a few mildly modern additions, like an upgrade system that isn't overdone and fits the game well. A bit overblown in the gfx department imho, but once everything is dialed down visibility fine ;D Also check out the Descent First Strike mod for maximum nostalgia.

[b]Thans for developers![/b] [b]Saying Briefly game is so good![/b] Long time ago i played Descant. This one game become one of my first pc game. And it was a good time, good game, and good good good... I by that game few years ago, but play now. This game is Descant on steroids. [b]Enemy has some intelegent.[/b] [b]Action, shooting is good.[/b] Missions are interesting!

The flight model is fun since I'm used to using roll and lateral boost and the combat is very high paced and exciting. Its absolutely worth the priced on discout. With that said, the reason I'm not recommending is that the campaign is linear, If you missed powerups and secrets from a level, you can never get it again on this playthrough. You will need to start a new campaign with no upgrades. On level 2 I looked everywhere and still only got 5/16 secrets. You also cannot change the difficulty anymore once you started a campaign. I have not played descent series and don't care if this design has anything to do with that series. The game isn't so bad that I'd refund it, but I cannot recommend it given the frustrating campaign design, which seems intentional because if it wasn't they'd have fixed it by now. Therefore I'll keep the game but leave a negative review. edit: all the good upgrades and secrets being absolutely impossible to find does not help.

Completed the game in 24 hours on Hotshot. As a fan of the Descent series from way back, it scratched an itch I didn't think I had. Overload is more of an arcade approach while Descent seemed a little more "dark". Many of the weapons are similar but renamed. The music was good enough that I didn't have to disable and play my own; which I tend to do. The ship and weapon upgrades are a nice and unique addition. I like to complete all achievements in a game. This one, however, with the multiplayer function on life support, it will be near impossible to complete and not worth the hassle.

If you liked any game in the Descent series, you'll like this game. It's a faithful spiritual successor to Descent 3, made by the same team. Still has a somewhat active multiplayer scene in 2026 :)

Достойнейший наследник великой трилогии Descent - и, к сожалению, пока единственный в своём роде. Настоящий «анал0г0внет», так скажем. Игра представляет собой тот самый классический аркадный 6DOF-шутер в невесомости, которого нам так не хватало. Отдельно радует наличие шикарного встроенного редактора карт. Из грустного, так это онлайн, совсем-совсем крошечный. Мне удалось найти буквально пару лобби где сидели 2-3 человека, ру комьюнити как я понял нет совсем. К сожалению, пипл нынче ценит только гачи и мобы дро4ильни
