素质还行,流程很短,但是居然坑掉了
Charming visuals, excellently written choose-your-own-adventure spycraft stories in a pre-war Switzerland. Sad that it's been abandoned and never got the third case it was supposed to, but given the price this game usually goes for these days, even the 5 hours its actual two cases deliver are a smashing deal. My only regret is that it spent years on my wishlist and I've only tried it now.
Kinda Cozy, choose your own adventure spy romance.
明信片式画风十分简洁,剧情选择丰富度高,二战下的谍战背景足够吸引人。 时隔六年终于更新了,制作组知道这六年我经历了什么吗)
I really enjoyed the vintage postcard inspired art direction and classic espionage played out through letters and intimate diary-like entries that really gave some cool suspense and room for the imagination to flourish throughout this short-but-sweet experience :) with more content already announced i'm excited to continue the story!
感觉游戏卖不动制作组早已跑路了,等了N年还没出第三幕,必须差评。
交互设计得非常有趣,权当是来了一次瑞士云旅游了
Return to childhood and the art of comics, postcards and lithograph toys. I hope for the promised third story.
Entertaining, but overall disappointing. Since it’s a linear visual novel with set outcomes, the writing works best when it builds up intrigue. Unfortunately, the game tends to reveal the climax of plot points way too early, dedicating the rest of your playtime to scenarios where “You have to chase person X, but person Y is also chasing them, get there first”. However, they don’t really work if they feel inconsequential at the end, when it matters. The minor variations might be entertaining while playing, but if the player makes mistakes and despite them they catch up to their opponent, or the opponent eventually catches up to them despite making no errors, it’s not hard for all of that to be viewed as padding in retrospect. There were also some instances of the “I didn’t expect it meant THAT when I chose it” dialogue options that are common with semi linear choose your own adventure games. What makes them pretty bad, though, was the lack of option to manually save, having to rely on reloading autosaves, hoping that your desired one wasn’t overwritten. But to be honest, the variations of the events don’t really matter to the point that it ends up not being as much of an issue as I initially thought. Which isn’t praise, by the way. The first story had a more generic plot for a spy adventure, but it was also a bit more engaging as it handled pacing a bit better. However, the complete dedication to the post card theme clashed with the story the game wanted to tell, resulting in an anticlimactic ending act, which took away the player’s agency and felt detached if anything. It would have been a great epilogue, but as a final act it fell completely flat and left me with a sour taste. The second story had a more intriguing plot and the new main character, despite her dialogue being based on similar traits to the first story’s, they also felt distinct enough and also allowed greater personality customization from the player, giving them greater agency. I ended up enjoying it more overall, however the pacing had serious issues. The story climaxes not at the ending, but at the very middle, leaving a second half that is yet another chase scenario without really anything exciting to anticipate. There was a third free DLC story promised, but considering the last update was in 2020 I wouldn’t hold my breath. I don’t think it would have much more to add either, to be honest, the current release feels complete as is. However, this isn’t fully an excuse, as some people purchased the game under the assumption that the DLC that was promised to them would be delivered.
Conclusion
Pretty entertaining while playing, but I personally found it disappointing by the end. The main, first story had an anticlimactic, detached ending. Both stories had pacing issues and an over-reliance on scenarios where “You have to chase person X, but person Y is also chasing them, get there first”, but your progress wouldn’t ultimately matter due to the linearity of the story. These issues were especially prevalent on the second story, which climaxes around the middle, leaving the second half dedicated entirely to such a scenario. The lack of both manual saves and the promised third free DLC story is also worth noting. I found it just an okay experience. It could scratch an itch if you were really looking for an espionage choose your own adventure, but I didn’t really find it worth the time. Final Score: 6.5/10
