As an avid VR gamer and a fan of Compound, I can confidently say that Sweet Surrender VR is an absolute gem in the virtual reality realm. This game brilliantly combines the thrilling elements of roguelike shooters with an engaging and immersive VR experience, making it a must-try for anyone who loves fast-paced, action-packed gameplay. Firstly, I want to address some of the negative reviews floating around. It's important to note that many of these critiques are outdated. The development team has been incredibly responsive to feedback, rolling out numerous updates that have significantly improved the game's mechanics, graphics, and overall performance. The commitment to ongoing improvement is evident and deserves recognition. In conclusion, Sweet Surrender VR is a fantastic addition to any VR gamer's library, especially for those who appreciate the unique challenges and excitement found in games like Compound. With the significant improvements and continued support from the developers, now is the perfect time to dive into this exhilarating VR adventure. Disregard the old negative reviews and experience for yourself how far this game has come – you won't be disappointed!
Buy on heavy sale A fun game that looks great and runs great, unfortunately, there is a lot of problems with it. - Most classes are the same in practice. The upgrades you get from them are not intrinsic, they are starting gear, so after 10 minutes in a run everything more or less becomes the same run every time - The end boss flies and is far away, so melee and projectile builds pretty much kill runs. Guns only - The mod that increases damage and decreases magazine size is more or less the only one that actually matters against the end boss, basically all the other mods are utility, healing, or lesser damage mods - There is one optional zone, but there is no real reason to do it, save grinding more weapons and mods, which is pretty much pointless, as item rarity gets better later on anyway this all means that after 10 minutes, every run is more or less the same, possibly the worst thing to happen to a roguelike that is supposed to have longevity based on variety between runs. The 4-6 runs you need to beat the game for the first time isnt really worth a full price tag, but is still a good time while it lasts
I take it the name shoot em up bang bang was taken cause this game is Super fun, reloading is simple and blasting robots is fun fun fun. This game has a Goldeneye 007 vibe to it and is just so much fun and it has a leaderboard so you can do trial runs to see how fast you can do a level. With the new effects in the bloom and recoil effects are fun and add a spice of color and flair to the game, Definitely a MUST Buy if you love a Shooter.
It's better than Compound
I did see alot of this game before buying it so gameplay and content are good here with more to come! But now after playing it myself i can also confirm its a well polished and working game! It runs very well and is built for vr - the artstyle is clean and looks good in vr! Although there is no setting for antialiasing - there is nearly every setting i could ask for including supersampling which thanks to the lightweight nature is possible to do to eliminate alot of aliasing. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good and fun roguelike shooter!
I think this game is underrated and you should be playing it if you have a VR Headset. My video here if you're interested in my two cents. https://youtu.be/rq0v_2BKuQ8?si=0ZGL8mJ9EGiju5pB
Saw this on Reddit and I just had to check it out. A ton of fun, I've only payed like 15 minutes but it's a lot of fun. It's got its flaws, I think the AI could be a bit better, but a super fun game that I'm excited to play more.
Nicceeee
I really like this game so far. But instantly teleporting when going up or down seems to be a big no for my nausea, something I normally have very little issue playing VR games. It would be nice to atleast have the option to enable rising and falling of the character in a "smooth" manner. Else this seems to be a very nice game and the grappling hook is very good fun!
