Outlast 2 introduces you to Sullivan Knoth and his followers, who left our wicked world behind to give birth to Temple Gate, a town, deep in the wilderness and hidden from civilization. Knoth and his flock are preparing for the tribulations of the end of times and you’re right in the thick of it.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.43/day in the week to Aug 18 → 18.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Played this several times, and it's definitely not deserving of the hate it gets. I love it.
I feel like a horror game should be more scary than frustrating. A glorified chase simulator where not running and actually deciding to hide leads to dying and having to restart a checkpoint. The game kills all atmosphere and build up just to show you a half assed jumpscare or force you to die to an enemy that spawned right infront of you. The game is also filled with gratuitous gore and shock content. While I have no qualms with shocking content, the game is so filled with it that by the first 30 minutes you'll be desensitised to it so it has no effect on the player the 20th time around. The basic plot of the game is pretty boring and just used as a vehicle to drive the game forward but I also believe that the underlying themes and the writing found in the games notes are very interesting. It's just a shame that the makers decided that jumpscares and chases were more interesting. While I have very strongly negative feeling for this game, it mostly stems from the fact that I was just very dissapointed that one of the most promising horror game series fell with its second release. I believe that it comes from the fact that the game followed its predecessors wrong footsteps. The original Outlast wasn't really a masterpiece but the game had a great atmosphere, music and graphics/design especially for a game with its budget and development team. What is mostly lacking in these games is a sense of contrast from all the horror and gore and varying gameplay from just running and flipping switches. I feel like the games are trying to make the player feel like they're being chased at all times. I guess the game succeeded because I'm tired of Outlast and the games that try to follow it's formula.
