Fast-paced 1D arcade shooter. The Y and Z axis are overrated, it's time to play a game that pushes X to the limit. OUTL1NED.

About
OUTL1NED is a manic One-Dimensional arcade shooter where you last as long as you can while enjoying a colourful lightshow in the background.
Even though enemies can only come from 2 intense directions rather than 360 flaccid degrees, you will have to focus to keep the pressure at bay and manage which direction needs your attention.
You will be challenged to manage your constantly-regenerating ammo and collect a variety of diverse upgrades as you go in order to last as long as you can.
Battle a variety of colour-coordinated enemy types that will vary in speed, health, and visibility that will force you to make tough decisions as they close in.
Enemies aren't the only danger as you will occasionally pick up debuffs that will obscure your vision and change up how you see the world.

"OUTL1NED" is described as a "1D arcade shooter" and I guess that's accurate. This ultra minimalist effort just has you taking on enemies to the left or right of you and that's it. And while at the face of it that seems novel, you have to remember One-Finger-Death-Punch was doing this for mobile phones for years before this, and that had actual graphics. It's 2025. Come on. Yes, this game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary... in fact it barely has any graphics at all. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy" and looks bad as a result of their lack of interest in doing their job properly. Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

Very fun and interesting 'rhythm' game. Start is a little bit to slow for my taste. Difficulty curve seems a little bit random as there is suddenly very much at the screen once you reach a score of 5k and depending on the upgrades it was not possible to get over this for me as I couldn't deal enough damage. Can't say if I was just unlucky or if the game is actually not balanced properly. I really enjoyed the movement and the responsiveness of the game. The soundtrack was very much fitting as was the feedback for hitting the obstacles. Also great visuals and effects overall. Solid game for what it is. Decide for yourself. This was picked as the third game of this years edition of the steam garbage calendar.
Navigate a single line like you’re dodging your responsibilities—quick reflexes are a must, or you’ll find yourself splattered across the screen faster than you can say “What’s a 1D shooter?” 😅💥 It’s like playing an arcade game but with fewer dimensions and more existential crises!
100/10 mobile game
Норм.
Sadly this game is on-line only, well if you´d be able to go offline, moving away from this 1,5D line you have to call home, playing as this little L or big i, that´d be cheating. So you end up having to play mass murderer, killing all the other inhabitants of this world, before they bump into you, given that you are blocking the only road available. Would be nice if someone could pick up this little critter and put him back to his family in the barcode where he belongs. But in the meanttime you have to help him survive in this cruel world. Decide for yourself.
Hızlı tempolu 1D arcade nişancı oyunu. Y ve Z ekseni abartılıyor, X'i sınıra kadar zorlayan bir oyun oynamanın zamanı geldi.
