https://youtu.be/pBpS3jTKmG4
The game looks nice and has pretty good animations but thats about all it has going for it. I won't refund since it was only $1.50 and every bit helps indie developers, but i wont play again until a mini-map/map, and some sort of objective marker gets added. Felt like I was walking around with my thumb up my ass with no direction, the short time I was playing.

I can recommend the game. Good horror atmosphere that keeps you in suspense. The story could be a bit better but it is quite fair for this price.
Great game. Combination of a puzzle and a FPS. Graphics look very good.
Out of Oblivion - survival horror
Warning: Asset Flip! "Out of Oblivion" is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Marketplace/FAB assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a few basic Unreal assets, dropped them lazily on a basic game blueprint to make yet another first person horror adventure asset flip. Explore a bunch of someone else's assets rearranged badly, get jumpscared maybe, uninstall rapidly. It's easy to see why this was a dismal failure. It has no value or merit as a real game. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The mismatched game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, it's a wonder why they couldn't be bothered "borrowing" higher quality assets for this asset flip. This is a lot like going on a shoplifting spree but only stealing the cut price store brand goods. Regardless, the poor quality assets alone should be enough to deter gamers from bothering with this. The controls and game handling are notably very clunky and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 130,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 130,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! "Out of Oblivion" is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. It's cheap, and I'm not talking about the price.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developers response here is equally arrogant as it is insulting and utterly dishonest. Stealing other people's assets and putting your own name on it doesn't make someone into a developer any more than asking GPT to write the whole game does. The developer takes 100% credit for the game engine, game blueprint and game assets he hacked up and reassembled incompetently, making the absurd and absolutely false claim that the assets are his creation. Worse, the developer is trying to get YOUR money for stealing and plagiarising the work of actual, real game developers. If this was done in Hollywood or in literature, not only would the "developer" be kicked out of the industry, they'd very likely face legal action in court. Why this asset theft and plagiarism is permitted on Steam is inexplicable, as it leaves us gamers simply to warn other gamers about creatively, intellectually and morally bankrupt asset flippers and plagiarists. This is on the assumption the developer "paid" for the assets he's plagiarising; it's quite possible there's illegal copyright infringement going on here. This is simply disgusting. This is why gamers despise asset flippers. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this asset flip to anyone.
