love it. the controls are nice, responsives, not janky. no bugs so far. i've tried other lil nitemares likes games, some of them has buggy control movements, but this one is not, amazing. good graphics. nice gameplay. don't know the story yet, will continue to finish it gameplay : https://youtu.be/MZMvK1gNCbc
A moody but flawed puzzle-platformer, this game offers a haunting world and simple mechanics but stumbles with bugs, poor collectible tracking, and limited replay value This game keeps its story deliberately minimal—you’re dropped into a mysterious world with no backstory, no explanation of your character, and no dialogue to guide you. It’s a hallmark of the genre, relying on environmental storytelling and player curiosity to fill in the gaps as you move through hauntingly atmospheric locations, piecing together what little you can. You begin in the sewers, stepping into the silent shoes of a young girl. She never speaks, and there are no explicit goals laid out, but veteran players will instinctively push forward, ready to handle whatever the game throws their way. As a puzzle-platformer, the game leans more toward platforming than puzzle-solving. You’ll mostly be running and jumping through various obstacle-laden areas, with the occasional light puzzle to break up the platforming. Chase sequences are frequent and more thrilling than the actual puzzles, which are often quite basic. Momentum and timing matter far more than brainpower here. Controls are simple and streamlined—just run and jump. Running not only speeds up normal walking movement but also allows for longer jumps, making it the go-to choice. The game also includes climbing and crate-pushing, which are intuitive thanks to clearly marked walls and forgiving mechanics that require little precision. A slingshot serves as your primary tool. Holding the fire button brings up a targeting rectangle that snaps to interactive objects, often marked with a subtle glow. It’s unlimited in use and unrestricted by ammo or distance, though cinematic camera angles sometimes limit your view more than the environment does. The game world, while explorable in theory, is tightly controlled. Boundaries like water, heights, or impassable walls keep you on the intended path. Despite having 3D freedom of movement, there’s rarely much incentive to wander—unless you’re hunting for hidden collectibles like balloons, statues, or graffiti. Unfortunately, collectibles are handled in the worst way possible. The game doesn’t track your progress, and missing one means replaying the entire game, which discourages thorough exploration. There are no chapter selects or clear indicators, making completionists’ lives unnecessarily difficult. It feels forced, and it drags down the replay value significantly. The setting is bleak. Poverty, scarcity, and constant danger fill the world, which is inhabited by humanoid animals—many of whom are hostile. It’s unsettling to see oversized rats and fish-people roam about, and some designs can be quite disturbing. Death is instant if caught, but the game cuts to black before things get too grim. You have no combat abilities, so stealth and avoidance are key. Checkpoints are generally forgiving, but a few segments force frustratingly long repeats upon each death. The game’s biggest oversight is its single save slot—starting a new game will overwrite your current progress. Not everyone in the game is an enemy. Early on, you meet two kids who help with obstacles. One, a monkey boy, gives you a boost to reach higher areas. The other, wearing an elephant mask, can move heavy crates and break walls. Other helpful characters appear later, but this companion mechanic is used in only a few situations. Masks play a thematic role, reflecting each character’s traits: the protagonist wears a lioness mask, symbolizing courage; the monkey is agile; the elephant is strong. The animal motif extends to the world’s lore and enemy design, creating a distinct (if eerie) visual identity. Your companions are smart, acting on proximity rather than commands. They follow you closely and spring into action when near the right object. If enemies show up, they retreat to hiding spots—boxes or barrels—and wait to be called back. This is also where bugs creep in. The elephant kid sometimes moves on his own, walking straight into danger and resetting the scenario endlessly. The monkey kid might freeze during chase sequences after a death, and distraction items like bottles don’t respawn upon respawn. Most of these issues can be resolved by quitting to the main menu, but they are still frustrating, especially the achievement for beating a game without dying. This is already hard, but bugs and sections where you die because of game's bad mechanics and lack of balance, make it impossible. All in all, it’s a decent game for one run, but it treads familiar ground. The theme of oppressed youth rising against an unjust world is overdone, and while the visuals are competent, they rarely inspire awe. Collectibles feel like busywork due to poor tracking, and the lack of quality-of-life features hurts replayability. Still, if you enjoy moody platformers with light stealth, emotional undertones, and simple mechanics, this game may be worth your time—just maybe not at full price.

No Responsibility Review,
June 28,2026 Update Played game again on another gaming machine. 3060 TI, previously playing on 1060 TI [6GB version]. Last played game on Dec 29,2025 nothing has changed regarding the game... NPC monkey character still jams, controller inputs are ignored,etc got stuck at the 24:16 of this walkthrough - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBZWlXmDXTg Previous review on Dec 29,2025 Want to love the game, but sadly due to technical issues cannot complete the game. Will Monitor for future patches.
Amazing game. I bought this for partner as she is new to gaming but can handle 2.5D platform games. Nice entry title for the genre. It is very similar to little nightmares, both in atmosphere and gameplay. Good mechanics not overly complicated. Controls are simple to understand and responsive. Nice story so far I have been watching her play and some constructive feedback from me would be the checkpoints are sometimes a little unforgiving for someone that occasionally mistimes the odd jump. Would be nice to have some form of difficulty setting with easier modes having more checkpoints. Highly recommend this to anyone who likes the little nightmares franchise and is eagerly awaiting the 3rd one and also Reanimal. Can’t wait to play it myself when the other half has finished it
Orphans is a great game, from the visuals, the mechanics and the soundtrack. This is a game about the pursuit of freedom in a world of inequality. Through the game you will encounter a lot of references that, if you are chilean, you will get at first sight. Speaking of gameplay and mechanics, this game is a 2.5D plataformer with a lot of puzzles, like Litte Nightmares and Inside, so if you liked that kind of games, I would recommend you to try Orphans. The start of the game is a little slow, but I enjoyed a lot the four last levels.
[*]优点1 美术资产优秀,整个游戏的“反乌托邦”式的氛围设计的非常具有代入感;细节部分堪称细节狂魔,容我举个例子:本作玩家的视角是“孩子”,游戏里有很多涂鸦文字,这些适时出现的文字配上当时的bgm很容易点起玩家情绪,又因为前文提到的孩子视角,这些标语所描述的内容也很“孩子”——简洁明了,绝望中有透露着孩子的纯真,部分语句甚至有语法错误; [*]优点2 游戏性上乘,“战斗”依靠玩家操控弹弓或其他方式与环境交互,配合孤儿展开跑酷,在boss的重重压力下逃出生天; [*]缺点1 篇幅较短,让人感觉不值这个价; [*]缺点2 操作有些不跟手,跑酷手感有些怪,不过适应后也还好,但适应期有些劝退;
