Its been an absolute joy building Orb of Creation. It embodies almost everything I love about video games: discovery, adventure, exploration... Its truly a blessing there is a medium in which I can express myself so well. If you are a fan of incremental games, give this a try. It won't disappoint.

Good stuff
Orb of Creation is by far one of my favorite incremental games. though i haven't completed the game since 1.0 did before, the game is the unfoldeyest of unfolding intrameal games. my only complaint is that i would have liked a bit more story in the tool tips. i do want to make it clear that this is NOT an idle game
Orb of Creation is a very addictive game that is great at stealing your focus. Dont forget to eat, drink etc. The fantasy of becoming a Wizard is only eluded to in Icons and Stats as your focus isnt on becoming a wizard but growing stronger every second. That fantasty is one you need to keep alive yourself. You often experience the flow of mixing diffrent stats with spells to get disired results, you feel clever. You feel like a Wizard! I first enjoyed Orb of Creation while having a 3 month throat infection, a perfect game for trancending your sick body and live in the systems returning once again to health. I hope MarpleGames adds more content and new Aspects, as I thought the full game a lil short for my expectations.

I very much like this game. I very much like that there are times when what I was doing slows down and near stops working. It can be frustrating for a bit, but figuring out how to change your strategy is very rewarding.
If I could leave a mixed review I would. This is a short form incremental game with gameplay similar to Cookie Clicker or other more traditional idlers, with only active play supported. First playthrough is usually 15-30 hours and then runs are usually 2-6 hours afterwards if you choose to play through. The early access was amazing and very polished, and is still available on itch.io. One of my favorite games in the genre (if you like Gnorps Apologue, Nodebuster, etc.) its worth checking out. Overall playing the full release I wasn't having as much fun as the demo/EA so have listed my reasons why, though the dev is actively addressing several of these issues. The major changes I noticed from EA when playing were: - Ability to plant trees and herbs. It slows down the pace of the game a lot and is the main time sink for new runs. Some of the level ups are also poorly tuned here, leads to very awkward scenarios that had to be addressed by early patches. - Instead of a fixed progression you get roguelike options, though you will eventually unlock everything. On the first playthrough this can be a bit annoying since depending on the order it can greatly influence the time to beat the game, on subsequent playthroughs it mostly involves fishing for rarer versions of the normal upgrades and interacting with the postgame prestige mechanics and works fine in that context. - Expanded the skill trees and "build" options, expanded the battle mechanics in the endgame. The new battles can be a bit buggy (often gets stuck, need to reload save) but nothing game breaking - Achievements (there is one that changes how you play and is interesting, the rest are just grindy or you passively get them without thinking) and challenge modifiers for NG+ - Prestige talents for playing through the game multiple times (though the balance on these is way off, some can actually cause your save to be unloadable, some have negligible impact, and they arent a fixed tree but also allocated in a roguelike fashion) There have been several minor updates since the 1.0 release that have alleviated some of these issues and addressed some of the major bugs / quality of life issues so leaving a positive review as it looks like its on a good trajectory.
Games pretty fun and interesting to explore and discover however falls flat and becomes a slog in the final segment. The final segment unlocks buffs that do certain things, There's a buff for each resource that lets you earn them via interest rate. this quickly becomes the best way to earn resources by far and invalidates most upgrades in the game outside of cost reduction and resource cap. The game then boils down to reapplying this buff every 30 minutes while you basically do nothing but afk til you have what you need, a stark difference from the very busy and interesting early and mid game. Also getting these interest buffs requires an rng chance of getting them, your game may become an obscenely huge slog if you dont get them in the first few initial chances.(gets more expensive each time)
Some imaginative stuff in here. Great soundtrack.
Very well made, deep, addictive incremental game. One of the best ones I've played in a long time!
A very neat incremental game that unlike many other idlers or clicker games lets you specialize to an extent. While overspecialization can be a bit of an issue you can trap yourself into the very complex way you can interact with your numbers with anything from getting interest to defering costs over time. Its in my mind very unique, like how cookie clicker felt when that was "the only 1 of three" of its kind sharing a spot with Universal paperclips and Crank. This game truly tries to innovate a little on what endlessly increasing stats can be so at first it will feel very fresh even for people who play these all the time. Downside is that you are constantly trying to reach for new unlocks with very different positons between playthroughs and players. One person may get a bit stuck with a mechanic while another blitzes through it. Its sort of unpredictable due to the burgeoning complexity. The second issue is that maple choose to give you unlocks like spells with a discovery system. While you are almost always given what you need guranteed as the only choice your game fun can be a bit risked by the game not giving you spell that feels neat with what you have chosen to do and since the cost of getting another exponentially runs away it can be a bit frustrating. Beyond that you have 4 distinct stages of mechanics to work through each building onto each other which are all very wizardly themed. I'd warn you not to think this is a fully idle game because of how much you need to be buying upgrades. You will be shocked how in some situations the issue isnt that you have enough to buy an upgrade and more how quickly you can buy upgrades. Honestly don't know of an incremental game that has this sort of problem so i hope the unique feeling comes through via text. Marple during the early access got very discouraged from finishing the game and get to 1.0. Some of that was a bit self-inflicted given that there is a bit of an expectation to regularly update a game in early access and marple preferring to work on something until it feels right. Mostly wanted to point this out because marple did reach 1.0 and dint give up which i appreciate immensly. Oh and also if you prefer your incremental game to be simple then this game is definetly not going to feel good. While its not fundamentally complicated everything interacting with each other makes the game extremly opague.
