Opus Magnum is the latest open-ended puzzle game from Zachtronics, the creators of SpaceChem, Infinifactory, and SHENZHEN I/O. Design and build machines that assemble potions, poisons, and more using the alchemical engineer’s most advanced tool: the transmutation engine!

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.29/day in the week to Sep 10 → 5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Makes you think and very relaxing.
This is a challenging puzzle game where you use various bits of machinery to bond elements together into a desired configuration and automate the production. You select various arms wheels, and devices and give them a series of instructions to produce the desired results when you start the machine and let it run. The challenge is in syncing everything up and putting everything together without the bits colliding into each other as the machine cycles, and doing it in an as inexpensive and efficient way as possible. It can take a good while to solve each puzzle, setting up each segment of the solution, running through it, making corrections through trial and error. The programming could have been implemented a little better, as there's no way to step backwards through the instructions, and they could have made it easier to stay organized, given the ability to group instructions or turn sections on and off, etc., but it's still a good game and worth the time if this is the sort of puzzle you like.

i love this game :)
I started playing Zachtornic's other work, SpaceChem, long before I even knew about this game. I was really young when I was first exposed to it, so finding another game from them that plays very similarly was really awesome to see. I've been playing around with the sandbox, and solved a few puzzles, even played some Sigma's garden once I figured out how it actually works (I somehow couldn't figure out the "controls" of clicking matching marbles until I had to look up a guide. That's entirely my fault though). I love puzzle games in general like Tetirs and Bejeweled, especially these that are more complex than "make lines of some kind".
Opus Magnum is a game that tickles every part of my little lizard brain. Unrestricted solution space allows for unique solves, and metrics to optimize for are so fun. I bought this game in 2022 on the recommendation of a friend, and after an initial playthrough, set it down. Goodbye Galaxy's video about accidentally setting world records got me back into the game, and alerted me to the existence of tournaments and weekly puzzles. I am hooked again! This game has a way of making time disappear, play at your own risk lol
Very nice
puzzles are fun untill you get to the journal levels then it becomes hell
