Opus Magnum

Another excellent programming game from Zachtronics! Opus Magnum shows the skill they've built over the years; being a more elegant execution on the game type they've been making since their founding.

Opus Magnum is a game that tickles every part of my little lizard brain. Unrestricted solution space allows for unique solves, and metrics to optimize for are so fun. I bought this game in 2022 on the recommendation of a friend, and after an initial playthrough, set it down. Goodbye Galaxy's video about accidentally setting world records got me back into the game, and alerted me to the existence of tournaments and weekly puzzles. I am hooked again! This game has a way of making time disappear, play at your own risk lol

Very nice puzzle game. Unlike some other games that require a lot of commitment, you can do the bite size puzzles bit by bit, since the mechanics are also simple, you don't need to remember increasingly complex mehcanics.

This is a delightful game with amazing mechanics. Some facets of the mechanics are definitely familiar from other Zachtronics games, but the delightful magitech steampunk storyline and the great characterization and art (and the obligatory minigame!) really make this a fun adventure.

Good game

Overall the game has many positives, However for a game like this, there are a few MUST HAVES that are not present here. 1. There is no way to break instructions into sections 2. There is no way to request that a certain section only be carried out once or X number of times 3. Hovering over most things, does not always tell you what it is. 4. In the instruction menu, if you want to copy-paste large sections of instructions due to issues 1. and 2. you can only paste in small visible sections, you cannot drag to the right and select everything in that direction, you really have to do it bit by bit. 5. It is relatively simple to keep costs and area low, however to improve your cycle score this will take far far more skill than is reasonably necessary to complete the level, you can beat the level low cost first try but try and do a high cost high speed machine and it will take you many many hours and no real reward other than relief that it is over. THE GAME IS A GOOD GAME BUT THESE ISSUES HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE I COULD RECCOMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO JUST WANTS TO PLAY SIMPLY AND NOT NEED TO CONSTANTLY COPY AND PASTE EVERY LITTLE PART IF THE SOLUTION INCLUDES ELEMENTS THAT ONLY NEED TO BE CARRIED OUT A CERTAIN NUMBER OF TIMES, OR IF THE REPEATED SOLUTION DOES NOT WORK.
