6/10 TL;DR Fun game with serious scoring issues from mobile port. No save option. Fun enough to avoid a very close decision for a thumbs down rating. I really enjoyed bouncing around to collect all the bananas in a level. However, for scoring, this was a mobile port which encourages you to either buy more lives or wait each day to earn free lives in a daily giveaway. In the PC version, once your 5 lives are used up, you can endlessly hit the continue?Y button, which clears your score to 0. So, it is next to impossible to build up a score with those original 5 lives. Each level requires a certain amount of experimentation to find a workable solution, with several deaths (maybe only 1 if you are particularly insightful.) So, the only real way to build up a high score is to replenish lives each day by playing the DAILY minigame. The minigame is incredibly easy yet frustrating. 3 shots for 3 bonuses. Miss or receive 0 extra lives--wait another DAY! If you accidentally hit RETURN to encourage the game to speed up and start the level, the control buffer saves that input and wastes 1 of the 3 attempts for a day. This is NOT fun to build up ANY score at all. Real progress would take about 1 day per level for 100 days. I was satisfied with finishing all levels of the game with a score close to 0. (8000 from one good run for 1.5 levels out of 100 levels) There is NO save option in each of the 10 areas. This requires a complete run of all 10 levels+boss level IN ONE SITTING to finish an area. Therefore, to build up any score at all, one must hoard a bunch of extra lives to survive the experimentation required to beat the 10 levels in each area in one sitting. So, wait 10 days before you can complete (and preserve your score) each area. Not fun at all to pursue any score of any merit. Furthermore, the achievements are obtuse. After completing all levels, I had 6 out of 22 achievements. The incomplete achievements were "complete level 5 of a certain area in a certain way." If I could restart level 5, I would do it. I am sure there are quite a few OCD players who will grind through to that level, then when they miss, grind through the same 5 level to get their achievements eventually. No thanks. Game has separate Music & Effects volume sliders, multiple resolution options, and full screen option. However, it will be decades before they figure out how to configure the 4 control keys--maybe science will find a way someday. I prefer ESDF. Game is stuck on WASD or arrow keys. 6/10; This is a disasterous game which is saved by the fun of bouncing around to collect all the bananas.
Great little puzzler for casual play and keeping kids quiet! I had a lot of fun playing this, and its very well produced - great sound, devious level design and cute graphics, although some of the menu buttons look rather large on a desktop monitor! Things I'd like to see: cloud sync and a linux version!
Great action puzzle. Simple with interesting concept it hard to master for max scoring combo. The gimmick make puzzle hard to anticipate and challenging Really worth the low price. I love the graphic it cute and funny. (simple story) The music and sound is good but not a masterpiece. Really need play it again.

Cute, charming puzzle game with an earmeltingly wonderful soundtrack, simple controls, addicting combo-score attack mode, and wonderful visual direction.
*Ookibloks* is a cheerful and energetic puzzle-arcade game that embraces simplicity while offering enough mechanical charm to stay engaging across its many levels. At its core, it blends light action with puzzle-like movement, all wrapped in a colorful, cartoon-styled presentation that immediately signals its playful tone. You take control of Ooki the Monkey, whose stolen bananas have been scattered across a series of compact stages filled with hazards, enemies, and environmental tricks. Rather than moving freely, Ooki slides in straight lines until something stops him, turning each level into a small spatial puzzle where careful planning becomes as important as timing. This sliding mechanic is the heart of the experience, and it gives the game a snappy, tactile feel that harkens back to classic arcade designs. The movement system might sound simple, but its execution produces a satisfying flow. Each stage becomes an exercise in charting the perfect route—lining up your moves so that Ooki can grab bananas in long combos, avoid threats like crabs and piranhas, and bump into just the right blocks to change direction or trigger environmental reactions. As the game progresses, different enemy types and block varieties are introduced, gradually transforming the straightforward early puzzles into more intricate obstacle courses. Even enemy encounters follow the sliding logic, so many situations require intentional precision rather than reflex-based dodging. Although the overall feel is lighthearted, some of the later levels demand more thought and coordination than the bright visuals suggest. The game’s presentation reinforces its upbeat personality. The artwork is colorful and expressive, full of exaggerated animations and environments that feel lively without becoming visually cluttered. The music leans into a breezy, friendly tone that complements short bursts of play. The whole aesthetic is clearly designed for accessibility and instant charm, making it easy to jump into a few levels at a time. This is particularly well-suited for the game’s original mobile roots, and while the transition to PC keeps the controls crisp, the bite-sized structure and upbeat tone still shine best in quick, casual sessions. It’s the kind of game where you can enjoy a handful of stages, put it down, and come back later without losing your rhythm. However, a few aspects of *Ookibloks* reveal its mobile lineage more clearly. The lives-based system, while offering some tension, feels somewhat unnecessary on PC, where players often expect unlimited attempts in puzzle games. The structure also leans heavily on repetition: while the sliding mechanic is enjoyable, the core formula changes only in small increments, and after extended play the similarity between levels becomes more noticeable. This doesn’t diminish the fun of the mechanic itself, but it does place the game firmly in the category of casual, short-session experiences rather than long marathon play. Players expecting complex puzzle evolution or large mechanical variety may find the game’s charm tapering off over time. Despite these limitations, the game succeeds because it understands exactly what it aims to be. It isn’t trying to build a vast, multi-layered puzzle adventure; instead, it focuses on delivering snappy, upbeat stages that reward precision, quick thinking, and a bit of experimentation. The light difficulty curve, warm presentation, and simple controls make it accessible to a wide audience, while the score-chasing combo system provides a fun layer of challenge for players who want to master every level. In a landscape filled with sprawling puzzle games that emphasize narrative or mechanical density, *Ookibloks* stands out by embracing an old-school arcade sensibility brought to life with modern polish. Overall, *Ookibloks* is a delightful and inviting game that offers uncomplicated fun through a clever movement system and a joyful aesthetic. It may not offer deep mechanical transformations or long-term complexity, and its mobile-styled structure might not satisfy every type of puzzle fan, but it absolutely excels as a relaxing, low-friction game for short bursts of enjoyable play. For those who appreciate charming indie titles that focus on solid core mechanics and feel-good presentation, it’s an appealing choice—especially if you’re drawn to arcade-style puzzle design that prizes momentum, timing, and bright, playful energy.
