I would love to recommend onward but I can't. For starters what is there of the community seems to be made of 7-12 year olds who just team kill and scream. The game used to look super crisp and clean, unfortunately it took a decent hit to graphics when they released the standalone for quest. The AI is just...it's AI...I guess.
They ruined it for everyone

I've never seen a game blow so much community goodwill. Laid a great foundation for a couple of years and then completely nosedived in graphics, feature additions, and as a result, the player base. If you want a nice VR mil sim with multiplayer, Tactical Assault VR is more likely what you're looking for.
8/10 Not sure why these wimpy people are whining and complaining on here. This game is great! (I thankfully have friends to play this with, so maybe get friends instead of crying about this game :3) Main movement and gameplay is super fun and addicting. I love how many weapons you can choose from as well as the equipment. I personally think the AI isn't the best, but still good. They have enough challenge and different engagements that make it completely unexpected. I dislike that they can see me in pitch darkness though, I wish it had a different system. People say that this game looks terrible- I don't really understand where they're coming from. Most of the time it feels pretty realistic, obviously not like ray traced and maxed out- but still good nonetheless. The only thing I've noticed is that the NVG's look bland and generic. I wish they made it more realistic looking. (As an example the game looks like VTOL VR) The weapon attachment system is great, I like that you have to manage your points in order to have a reasonable set. If you got some VR friendos, this game is a great addition to the collection!
people are toxic af and not beginner friendly in any way, so if you wanna play this, you're expected to know everything about this game before playing it, otherwise you're a "kid" (even if you're 25)
Mediocre graphics, tons of children, & missing a number of features from similar games on VR. Decently fun for a few hours but the low player count and even lower player quality will have you moving on before you hit 10 hours. When you do get a game going, you'll mute at least 1 player in the small coop lobby and end up pulling your pistol to shoot a kid shortly after step-off. You'll know its coming because they'll be the one drawing phallus-like shapes on the planning board before mission. I've never been able to find a PvP lobby. Game best serves as a sim for those who want to get called a racial slur or shoot LARPers.
1.7 really carries the entire experience and is really fun, though new Onward is filled with little kids that play freeroam (which is fun to mess with them) and the AI is so ass. but multiplayer is amazing and the community is... eh.
Its been a while since I played Onward, i used to play it when it first came out on Meta and I remember the graphics weren't the best but there was effort put into the game that made it the way it was, but coming back and seeing the new maps and seeing old ones come back but better was exciting and seeing that ladders were now usable is amazing, I hope that more updates keep coming and I hope one day we could get some type of vehicles in the future.
It use to be fine and then after the 2.0 update kids with mod menus have been running rampant and screwing everything up. and uh most people are just not that nice since yknow people TwT
They quest-ified this and I havent played since*
