Наш транспорт – обычное офисное кресло. Улучшить его нельзя, но мы можем менять его скин и скин наездника. Все скины надо разблокировать, выигрывая гонки. Игра поддерживает режим заездов на время или гонку за первое место. Можно играть одному против компьютерных соперников или сразиться с другом за одним компьютером (общий экран с разделением). При этом игра (в данный момент) не поддерживает контроллеры, но можно играть вдвоем на одной клавиатуре. Сами гонки представляют из себя наматывание кругов. Во время заездов можно пользоваться вещами (огнетушителем, чтобы ускорится, большими кулаками, чтобы расталкивать соперников и т.д.). [h1]Ложка дегтя:[/h1] Самое печальное, что убивает дух аркады, так это препятствия на пути, которые требуют быстрого нажимания кнопок. При появлении такого препятствия, на экран выскакивает подсказка с клавишами, которые надо успеть нажать, пока сама подсказка не закрылась. При этом визуально препятствие еще долго находится в вашем поле зрения, но если вы не успели нажать нужные кнопки, а подсказка пропала, то вы врезаетесь. Сложность в том, что подсказка горит считанные секунды, а кнопки на ней могут быть разные, причем и нажимать их надо по-разному. Вас могут попросить последовательно нажать несколько кнопок, нажать/зажать/спамить одну их них. Не представлял, что кому-то придет в голову совместить гонки с элементом механики ритм-игр. Это неудачное сочетание, когда в пылу заезда вам приходится жать кнопочки с буковками, чтобы обогнуть препятствие. Если бы кнопка была одна и действовала как обычное уклонение или прыжок (без идиотского ограничения с экраном подсказки) было бы куда веселее. Кроме этого раздражает кривая физика игры, при которой кресло иногда совсем не разгоняется и цепляется за невидимые углы. Я понимаю, что кресло трудно развернуть и ехать прямо, но почему-то оно часто просто останавливается и не двигается, хоть и жмешь разгон (замирает). [h1]Плюсы:[/h1] Интересная идея с заездами на офисных креслах. Разблокируемые скины. Возможность поиграть друг против друга на одном компьютере с одной клавиатурой (общий экран с разделением). Достижения. Забавные звуки. [h1]Минусы:[/h1] Элемент с обходом препятствий нажиманием кнопок в стиле ритм-игр. Плохая физика разгона. Посредственная графика. Неприятные музыкальные треки. The game can be enjoyed either alone or with a friend and offers some cool features like levels with shortcuts and Quick Time Events. The idea is fun and original and it can also be challenging. It just needs some refining to the techincal sector (especially the audio side) and fix some bugs. [h1]BACKGROUND[/h1] Once we start up the game, we are greeted by an introduction email that explains the background: while your boss is on a business trip, your co-workers decide to organize an office chairs competition. [h1]GAMEPLAY[/h1] [b]Game Modes[/b] Office Race provides three difficulty levels and four game modes plus the tutorial - Normal mode: is the classic single player race against AI, is the main game mode - Time trial: improve your time and learn the rack with his shortcuts - Multiplayer: split screen with AI - Player vs Player: split screen with no AI (I suggest starting with the tutorial since it offers a short but complete overview of the main features of the game. Generally is low quality and needs to be fixed: the soundtrack becomes repetitive and annoying as well as other effects (like the elevator or the race countdown sound). At the moment I prefer to mute the game and listen to something else, this really needs a patch. [b]Bugs[/b] At the moment I found only two bugs: - Sometimes Quick Time Events don't end (seems that the "Sequence QTE" is the only one affected) causing the character to run inside walls and exit the map forcing you to restart the race. - (minor bug) You can't see the pause menu during the race introduction movie, the game will just pause. [h1]PRICING[/h1] The game is sold at 4,99€, developers seem that they worked a lot between June and August. I'd say it deserves a try. Веселые гонки офисных сотрудников. Хватай кресло на колесиках и гоняй по помещениям! Босс отправился в отпуск, а «трудолюбивый» офисный планктон решил себя развлечь в его отсутствие, устроив соревнования – покатушки на креслах. Можно соревноваться с ИИ или устроить заезды с другом. При этом экран разделяется на две части, а для управления используем одну клавиатуру (кнопки можно настраивать). Креслом управлять довольно сложно, оно разворачивается с трудом, зато можно воспользоваться бонусными предметами. Например, использовать огнетушитель для ускорения или стукнуть соперника увеличенным кулаком. Игра получилась динамичной и веселой. Сбиваем коробки, мебель, стараемся пройти препятствия, при которых на экране показывают последовательность кнопок, которые надо успеть нажать. С прохождение разблокируем скины для героя и для его кресла, получаем ачивки и море хорошего настроения.

Great game, controls are a bit wonky at first, but after you get used to it they are great. There are several player skins you can unlock and chair skins as well. Worth every penny it cost. The final boss is somewhat difficult, but is a worthwhile challenge and really pays off after beating it. Very fulfulling final boss race. 13/10 would office race again

While your boss is away on vacation, you and your colleagues compete to be the first to cross the finish line while avoiding commonplace obstacles, derailing pushes from your opponents, or simply ending up in the wrong cubicle. Fully equipped with "gizmos" to give a helping hand, it is up to you to roll your way to victory in your company owned office chair! (don't damage it.) Office Race features four game modes: Normal, Multiplayer, Time Trial, and Player vs. Player. In Normal mode, the player races against 5 AI through 14 levels to earn gold medals. Multiplayer is a split screen local game mode where player one uses the WASD keys, and player two uses the arrow keys on the same PC. Try to beat your highscore in Time Trials, or have a one-on-one stand off with a friend in Player vs. Player mode. Winning medals unlocks new custom chairs and player models. Though the character design consists of nothing more than simple 3D models, it fits the casual nature of the game well. That being said, as we say about our employee Dave’s work area reigns true here - a little polish goes a long way (sorry Dave). To win the race, the player needs to effectively use their power ups to get ahead of their opponents, choose between the beaten path and (sometimes detrimental) shortcuts, all while responding to various quick time events to avoid being electrocuted - among other unfavorable fates. The movement mechanics add an extra challenge for us Mario Kart pros that makes this unlike most kart racing games. If you've ever tried to do a sharp turn in a swivel chair, you can imagine what the controls of this game involve. What causes these wacky controls to fall flat is the sporadic and disorienting camera system. Whether it's the sudden low angle when hitting a wall or the quick 180 horizontal jerk in the wrong direction when grazing a cubicle panel, it seems this game has a nasty case of the Camera Screw. But don't fret, this can be easily cured with a slower rotation and zoom rate to fit the narrow level design and allow the player time to understand what their chair is stuck on. With this simple change in camera movements, Office Race’s quirky controls could easily go from unnecessarily frustrating to fun and entertaining. [b]TL;DR[/b] - Office Race is a fun concept for quick casual gameplay. With some tweaking of the controls, and a lot artistic detail added to the environment, this game could be a novel gem.

Silly unique kart game. Might have been fun for a budget indie game, but overall it's buggy, boring and has poor UI. Could be tolerable for free, but at this state it's not worth your money.

При запуске Office Race больше всего понравилась физика движения стула на колёсиках, в принципе движение офисного планктона верхом на нём выглядят очень реалистично, по этому приноровиться к прохождению поворотов будет как минимум не просто. Расстроили некая так сказать схематичная графа, могли сделать всё по симпотичнее да прикрутить мультик и возможно в игре была бы хорошая перспектива.
