Reviews
Overwhelmingly positive reviews are misguiding. This is a fun game but it has no real substance. Extremely repetitive gameplay loop and while you unlock all these different cars & guns, theres no need to use 80% of them because they're quite frankly mid.
It is not worth 14 Eur, maybe 6-7 at most. The game is fun, but for about an hour? It becomes extremely repetitive extremely fast..

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly, I don't know how to feel about this game. It definitely has a potential. But there is no fun in this game rn. When you spend some time in this game, you'll find that all fight are essentially just the same. You always fight against damage sponges. All enemies and bosses have almost the same behaviour. I would suggest you to wait for some major updates.
I would strongly recommend anyone interested in the game to check out the demo, because the demo is a 1:1 representation of the game in it's entirety. There's nothing else except some new cars and new guns. I want to say that there's not much to complain about for a $20 game... except there is, because there is LITERALLY nothing new in the full game. It's the demo, but like if they cloned the demo 5 times and glued them together. Imagine a sprawling playground made for children, but the only thing on that playground is like 50 swing-sets, or 50 see-saws, and nothing else... There needs to be more. More, more, more.
Just like many other negative reviews state, the game just doesn't have that much content and the variety of what content it has is very small. You just drive around aimlessly and do the same couple "missions" just to kill the same enemies over and over. Now I do think it has framework for a potentially great game with its physics, driving, and combat, but again it needs a lot more variety and just more stuff for the player to do. Hopefully that comes in future updates as I really would love to have a reason to comeback and play the game.
I played literally all of it that's out so far. The TLDR; there's no substance whatsoever, every single fight is the same and the different "biomes" are just a couple trees, and different colors. I got baited by the good reviews likening it to vigilante 8, or twisted metal. It has almost nothing in common with either of these aside from it being vehicle combat. The first, and most damaging issue this game has is its open world: It definitely is an open world, way too open. Instead of having obstacles to drive around, and using that to change up the combat and game play, its literally just endlessly open. this leads to combat being "Hold down gas and fire, and repeat" there is no tactics to it, cause there simply cant be. What's unfortunate about this is, unless they completely scrap what they have and start totally over, there is no solution to this. The second issue this game has is its difficulty: Like the first issue, this one cant really be solved either, because of the openness of the map. the game is so easy, you can literally just sit in one spot with the weakest vehicle, and not even come close to dying. i suspect this is because you cant have this game be difficult, cause there's no way to be better when the entire combat system is quite literally "hold shoot button". No cover or obstacles for you to drive around and out maneuver, no guns, or repair items to find to help, just a flat/ rolling hills map you just drive straight and full speed, holding down two buttons. The third is the vehicles: this game features a customizable car system, and that's great, i love being able to build my own thing, but that's where the good ends. The only differences between the cars are things like speed and health, as well as how many guns you can have, a very very simple system. This leads to most of the cars just being worse versions of the others, once you get to late game, you pretty much only choose from 2 or 3. There are no specials, or anything unique to any of the cars, so there's literally no reason (other than nerfing yourself to make it harder) to use ANY of the cars you got early to mid game. The same issue comes up with the weapons, there's a lot of different weapons, but they may as well just be the same thing, and just like with the cars the early game ones have nothing useful or special about them. so unless you just wanna nerf yourself, there's no reason to use 3/4 of the weapon roster The fourth issue is the combat: I know i already touched on this, but man... it is legitimately the single most shallow combat system I've ever played. Given there are no obstacles, or cover, and the game was made to be "fast paced" you just do 3-4 "missions" where about 10 weak enemies spawn out of nowhere and come in at the speed of ♥♥♥♥. You then quickly kill them, rinse and repat 4 times, and you've completed a "mission". you have to do this 3-4 times to unlock a "boss" fight. the bosses are largely just spongey regular enemies, aside from a couple exceptions, although even those don't change up the combat at all. Since they are such spongey health pools, its takes a couple minutes to kill them. Since you're guaranteed to be in an open field or desert (that's all this game has) this very quickly devolves into you and the boss driving around in a circle holding down two buttons, for about 3-5 minutes. I ♥♥♥♥ you not, almost every boss eventually ends up doing a nascar maneuver where they just drive around in a circle going full speed, with you behind them doing the same. It really sucks, because no one has even tried to make a vehicle combat game like vigilante 8 or twisted metal, and i still love both those games. i really wanted to like this game, that's why i played till the end, but unfortunately it just ain't it.
There was a game called Hard Truck Apocalypse I loved to play as a kid and this game has almost everything i would love to see in its sequel. While repetitive sometimes overall experience made me come back to those moments of pure fun driving around a wasteland in an armored car blowing up enemies left and right. 10/10 (20/10 on a sale)
Co-op update has some bugs that sadly make the game unplayable (enemies not spawning). Lack of a bug report button also not really ideal. Outside of that I guess it's okay.
Estoy en la oficina y lo corre de put4 madre la pc, el juego está de put4 madre. Veredicto: DE PUT4 MADRE
The art style is the first thing that amazed me. It's got a really unique look that stands out immediately, and the lighting does a ton of heavy lifting as well. Whether you're cruising through open roads or abandoned ruins, everything has this dusty, moody, afterlife atmosphere that makes the world feel awesome to explore. It definitely scratches that Mad Max itch, but still has its own identity. The driving is easily my favorite part. It feels smooth, weighty, and just satisfying. Drifting around and boosting over hills never gets old. The cars have enough personality that you actually want to keep upgrading and experimenting with different builds and slots. Combat is exactly the kind of chaotic vehicle combat I was hoping for. Dodging incoming fire while trying to land your own shots turns every encounter into a fun balancing act. It gets hectic fast, but in a way that's always exciting. The soundtrack deserves a shout too. The organic, guitar-driven music fits the world perfectly and adds so much to the atmosphere. It makes every drive feel like you're wandering through the wasteland with nothing but your engine and your thoughts. FUMES has so much personality, and it never feels like it's trying to copy anything. If you're a fan of Mad Max, car combat, and games that absolutely nail atmosphere, this is an utmost recommendation. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3775256793 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3778271216 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3774705464
