About

The year is 198X, and you're a jobbing composer. You start out with nothing but a toy keyboard shaped like a tiger, and a brand new sequence-o-matic 4-track that your uncle bought from a shady geezer in the pub.
Word quickly spreads about the new producer on the block, and soon the commissions are rolling in. Things start humble, recording tracks for weddings, workout videos and corporate presentations, but before long you're getting asked to score fantasy movies, museum openings, and all kinds of crazy stuff.
Of course, you'll have to upgrade your kit along the way. Turns out, the local second-hand magazine is a treasure trove of objects that make interesting sounds, from singing garden gnomes and shredders-that-shred-sound-as-well-as-paper, to high-end synthesisers and musical effects. By the end, you'll have figured out a sound that's all your own.

But OFFBEAT isn't just a game. All the musical instruments are fully simulated, and the music you're recording is real. The game is secretly a complete audio production tool. Every piece of music you create in the game gets exported and saved locally on your computer as a WAV file, which you can use for whatever you want.
Music production can be costly and complex to get into, especially for beginners. We created OFFBEAT to lower barrier to entry and to offer a playful, low-pressure way to learn the basics of audio producion. The goal is just to be expressive and experimental, but by the end you'll have learned a little about synthesizers, sound design, composition and recording. Our hope is that when the game's finished, you'll have the confidence and expertise to carry on composing and recording music.

I dabble around with producing myself, and this game is kinda awesome with it. Got a bunch of new ideas. And it's awesome that it lets you actually use the music as well.

charming, lofi, music maker. buy it.
I love it. I love that it has the quests and missions and it's not just a new music making toy/tool but it has a bit of story to go with it. I love the art style. It's not a perfect game but it's a great game and I love it.
This game is great. As a person who has messed around with Abelton and FruityLoops for over a decade it is so exciting to have a game that I can explore my creativity with some guided objectives. Just unlocked the second tier of instruments, stoked how many options there are in this game. It starts off very beginner friendly and introduces advanced techniques in a palatable way. Highly recommend for any music enthusiasts that want to be creative with an objective push.
Already a really fun way to get familiar with music production, and there seems to be a lot more planned for the months ahead.
a mi ke me gustan los sandbox de mundo abierto supervivencia y pvp y esta mierda me tiene enganchaisimo
This is such an excellent game. I always wished there was something like this help me learn how to piece music together in a fun, semi-guided way without feeling like I'm out of my depth. Big thank you to the team that made this game; it has been a real creative blast making goofy little tunes for all the different characters so far, I'm excited to unlock more ways to shake up the tunes down the line!
Writing music hasn't been more fun. With a lessons mode and a few more toys in the full release it could be a legit learning tool.
