About
Scramble: Battle of Britain is a tactical dogfighting game that thrusts players into the High-Octane chaos of the 1940 summer skies. Set in a dynamic 3D airspace, this simultaneous-turn-based game embraces the intricate details of aerodynamics and physics-based simulation unique to the piloting experience while minimizing time and reflex demands. Players lead their squadrons through intense aerial battles as Luftwaffe and RAF fighters clash over the English Channel. Through each gameplay phase—Planning, Simulation, and Review—players strategize and command aerial maneuvers, witness simulation outcomes in real-time, and rewind the action to analyze battle damage using detailed camera tools.
Scramble: Battle of Britain breaks the chaos of a dogfight into short, thrilling chunks of action.
Explore the heart-pounding tactical space of a dogfight within a digestible turn-based environment. Sight the enemy, identify threats and targets, then take control and command loops, rolls, and dives as you pilot each aircraft in a deadly fight for survival.
The planning phase of a Scramble turn grants players the situational awareness and control fidelity to execute textbook-quality fighter combat tactics and maneuvering. Zoom out to a diorama view of the sky and manipulate a suite of tools to understand how each plane and pilot fit into the wider battlespace.
The simulation phase of a Scramble turn resolves your tactics in a high speed hail of bullets and shredded aluminum, and the review phase allows you to scrub through the action frame-by-frame. Assess battle damage, identify pilots in need of escape, and celebrate the exhilarating action at your preferred pace, from your favorite angles.
Jump into the action with the Squadron Leader game mode and command an RAF squadron of twelve distinct pilots through thirty days of intense channel interceptions. Squadron pilots will have unique identities and each pilot will have a collection of traits characterizing their strengths and weaknesses in combat. Pilots will tire, injure, and die throughout the battle, and as leader you must balance the health and well being of your squadron with your total attrition rate. Squadron Leader is the proving ground for current and future mechanics that will form the foundation of the full Channel Defense Campaign.
Dogfight Generator pitches you straight into the action, letting you design and jump into missions instantly, choosing to fight for either the RAF or the Luftwaffe in furballs of up to twelve aircraft.
With saveable match replays and cinematic tools that allow you to capture the action from every angle, you can relive and share your greatest victories. This Early Access release delivers a feature-packed experience and sets the stage for thrilling updates ahead.
In Scramble, aircraft are simulated down to the subcomponent level to offer an authentic World War II combat piloting experience. The best tacticians will explore the flight envelope of each airframe and master the trades in dive, climb, and turn performance.
Bullets will tear through fuel tanks, radiators, and engines, springing leaks and starting fires. Ailerons and elevators will rip off under stress, drastically altering aircraft aerodynamics. Pilots will fatigue and black out, and are as vulnerable to well placed shots as any mechanical component of their aircraft.
Nurse a sputtering engine, dash for land before that leak bleeds your fuel tanks dry, or bail out and hope for a rescue; aircraft and pilot vulnerability can shift the objectives of any battle from enemy destruction to mere survival.

very very bare bones could possibly become a very cool game just not right now
Its opinion about early acces version (late february 2026). The game looks groundbreakingly beautiful, but like the early stages of development. The most difficult and tedious part is searching through all possible positions and trying to find the target with the reticle. Another problem is the lack of a wider perspective option, meaning you can see the situation from a distance away from the plane, sometimes even sideways. We now have a two-dimensional image, but we're operating in three dimensions. It's easy to overshoot the plane's positioning due to the lack of visibility from all sides. Sometimes, in a seemingly ideal and close position, the game doesn't recognize a shooting opportunity, and the pilot doesn't take the shot. Sometimes, however, we don't see the green outline on the reticle, but the pilot fires and hits. So what are we supposed to be guided by? The replay itself may be impressive, but it could show the battle from a longer perspective, not from the position of one of the planes. It's unclear and less useful in this format. It's pretty, but not very useful. The game is supposed to be finished this spring, but I honestly don't believe it. There's no chance. The game is practically empty at this stage. Do they have the missing 90% of the content ready and are just holding back the reveal? I rather doubt it. They'd want to test it and find bugs and give it to us today. Lack of basic aircraft, lack of vertical rudder = lack of true flight simulation, no campaign mode, no multiplayer communication, no control optimization, no manual, and not even a keyboard shortcut. Another 10 years will pass at this rate. I've been watching its development for so many years now that I don't believe they'll manage to finish it by the stated deadline without some extraordinary acceleration of the development process. Version 1.0 might be released, but it will be flawed and incomplete. I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer to feast on this tempting world of turn-based dogfights. I guess, having nothing better in this style, I'll still play it occasionally, but with regret that it's unfinished. I regret that the old Achtung Spitfire + Over the Reich is no longer available. I'm leaving a positive recommendation because I've always been naive :) Another xx years of production and maybe it will be a great game... ...for those who live to see it.
Love the base premise of this game, touches my nerd/aero regions, seems pretty well made overall too, particularly in early access. Couple of gripes that might be sorted: - There is no save feature and adult life can cost you an hour of combat or more or because you to forget to check all your pilots wasting an hour of hard combat with one of your pilots unintentionally plummeting into the ocean - In the squadron leader mode, most of the squadron leader perks seem utterly worse than useless, particularly the ambush trait, which was supposed to give some kind of advantage, but all that seems to happen is your 3 paper mache hurricanes look like they might be able to dive on some bombers but not before being ripped to shreds by the 4 sets of Me110 cannons pointing at them. Oddly enough, selecting a squadron leader with PT Coach trait has put me behind the enemy in prime attack position from the rear EVERY time- wtf? - Going back to the save and the number of enemy aircraft, I actually cannot see the point in having a Hurricane or Spitfire squadron, as there is no apparent difference in what's faced, but obviously historically Hurricanes were used to attack bombers whilst Spitfires were used to attack fighters (primarily) but quite often get spawned with 3 hurricanes that have to take on 6 DO-17s before they escape, whilst having 2-3 Me109s or Me110s already spawned and then another 2 - 4 fighters arriving at advantage in another 20 turns. Which often nullifies any gains in the first 20 turns. I would think a better way to structure Squadron Leader would be such that, when scrambling, you'd be in your Spitfire squadron first and you have a limited number of turns to attack enemy fighters, and after the end of those turns you'd then be in your Hurricane squadron and would have to deal with whatever the Spitfire's left whilst also attacking the bombers, much more like what happened historically. You could even add in a checkpoint at this point, so the whole first set of turns doesn't get totally wasted Alternatively, if one simply hit and runs the bombers and then tries to escape the fighters you get marked down, but there just isn't enough ammo to actually shoot so many aircraft down all the time
Looks like someone has wet dream about being a pilot and tried to make it real but ooops - something went wrong. This is epic disapointment. Controls: horrible - in game where you need to be as accurate as is possible you got just an option to move two points on X and Y axle by WASD or mouse and it as accurate as to flight in flight simulator without rudders. You are in pseudo 3D space with ugly animations (even if the game have to render just whole white/blue space with about five airplanes), with no feel of depth, with insanely bad camera settings and controls and you can control your plane only in ways "up", "down", "left", "right" which you can combines. It could be sufficient for naval or ground combats, but not for air movement. Sorry, I expected from this game to be better than 90' arcade plane shooter. Horrible. Yes. I had to write it again. Physics: hehe, what physics? Planes (especialy enemies heavy planes) are able to do insane manouvers which would real plane tore apart. Well, sometimes pilot is blacked out by high G values but planes itself can do really insane manouvers without any damage to them. Gunplay: tbh there is no gunplay at all but I dont know how to call it. You can't even choose when to shoot. You just can tell to your pilot "during my turn you should fire" but you can't choose when so you have NO CONTROL OVER THE COURSE OF FIGHT. Which is totaly absurd. And random. Pilot just fire when game decide is time to fire... which is in about 75% useless and nonsesns, because for some reason, pilot never shoots when you try to lead. They only shoots when nose of your plane is in direct course towards enemy plane. Which make no sense and is no wonder you will miss most of the time unless you will not be about 50m from enemy. Long story short - idea was good, reality of game is as bad as it can be. Even World of Warplanes have better physics and balistics model. And I am sure this can't be excuse by "early access" state of game since Physics and balistics model is alfa and omega of whole game. I already refunded this game about year ago so I can't do it again but I hoped the game could be better than was. It is same sh*t. Do not waste your time on this.
Day in the life of a true Scramble: Battle of Britain Geezer: Wake up and form two sections. Spits and Hurricanes, ain't they beautiful. Rev up the Merlin, ye! Get a quick SCRAMBLE halfway through the day! Get a pint. Dive on Jerry from out of the sun. Skies looking lovely today, lads. Smoke a 109. Just a bit of banter. Pop down and have a couple pints with the lads And finish up in the fortress of dreams. 10/10 would play as long as the Battle of Britain Suite, 633 Squadron or the Dambusters is playing in the background.
Very good game. There are some cons such as you cant rename the pilots. I like to make it personal. Graphics tend to be a bit bright making it hard to see. This game has a LOT of potential. Scramble could be used to make many spinoffs. Look forward to its future.
It took me about an hour to get more comfortable with the way you "Pilot" those machines... Then the fun start. Very original, I never played such a game before. I am glad I did. It's all but easy and it's great. Don't think it's all about moving your plane the right way, it's also about your crew stats and creating the right flight group to maximise your chances of success at taking down the opposition. Love the replay too!
The game isn't perfect, but it is excellent. Ive greatly enjoyed the gameplay and despite some minor graphical and ui bugs, it has operated quite well.
This game is already very good. Squadron Leader is fun and the multiplayer works well. If they see this to the end this game will be amazing.
