Of Orcs And Men

Got this after playing the Styx trilogy. Worth it.

Bought this game in my quest to find a good game made by the studio Spiders (only tried Bound by Flame up to this point, didn't like it). At first I noticed the same issues in connecting the controller and the same start menu and in game menu as in Bound by Flame, released 2 years later. But then I noticed the goblin Styx, from the stealth trilogy I have yet to try, only to later find out that this game is his first appearance and Cyanide Studio decided to repurpose him in his own spin-off, so I decided to stay a little more. Of Orcs And Men is really interesting from the start, simple and interesting in its premise, tackling moral and racial themes from the "villain" perspective, the oppression of the orcs and greenskins in general. The writing is rough around the edges and with some unnecessary swearing and edgy banter between the characters, but decent overall and moderately focused on worldbuilding that doesn't feel overwhelming. The gameplay is pretty streamlined, with instanced zones and maps, long corridors mostly, guiding you through the story with some minor and not really that important (most of the time) decisions through dialogue. The gameplay itself is a weird dynamic tap target with real time pause, mimicking some sort of action combat, split between 2 characters, an only brawler/tank and a hybrid DPS/stealth/range guy. Yeah, Styx adds the stealth in this game too, a minor minigame of stealth, but a decent one. Do try it, it's a pretty interesting and different old RPG.

Nice AA game. Story rich, good combat and generally a fun game. Can feel dated at times but it's worth your time and money when on sale

For an old game this is really good, story was okay nothing really special but getting to play as monsters for once rather than humans all the time was nice plus you get to play as the most sarcastic goblin in this series styx i picked this gem up for 90p, runs nice no crashes which i was surprised based on the age of the game

This game simply has no rights being that good, a 10/10 classic in my book ! ! !

Группа бомбистов из двух...эээ...человек (включая небезызвестного Стикса) при поддержке революционного подполья желает навестить местного "несменяемого" государя-анператора и выгулять его в "ипатьевский подвал". Не обойдётся без интриг охранки, провокаторов и предательств. Всё как надо. Была проблема с установкой из-за "недоступно в вашем регионе", но после смены региона загрузки в стиме туда-сюда-отратно внезапно всё установилось, из РУ-региона. Странно конечно, ну да ладно.
