HOG Score: 4/10 - Story: Totally not okay. - Puzzles: Easy. - Hidden Objects: Average. - Graphics/Art: 2D. - Audio/Music: No dubbing, just text. I didn't hear anything special.
One of the most boring hidden object games i ever played. It also totally butchered greek myth , Helios giving him the bag containing all the winds for starters, but they couldn't even respect Penelope's eyes , the odyssey clearly said her eyes were black , but they gave her blue eyes in game.
Frankly spoken...
Alone the introduction of the game, which is an Hidden Object Game (or HOG for short) is kind of a slap in the face for someone who is familliar to the Ilias and the Odyssey. Given the general telling is by far and wide taken into account, the whole story is stunted and crippled to be for a more general audience. (In my time it was part of the general education system, and there only was the translation with all the killings, murder, intrigue and backstabbing) It took me quite some time to write about this shock I had, and actually I am still not sure if at all I should write anything about this game - but then again, I can at least warn potential customers that this game can only underwhelm the expectations given to the great classic and the represented game. It doesn't work, the story is bland compared to the classic, and among the failure of the "Flying Dutchman" fiasko this is one of the worst disappointments I had. It is one of those games that might make you wonder, why you still have HOGs in your library (though there are dozens of very well made Hogs and only two or three handful of really bad ones around). It is sad, that classics like the whole Trojan War becomes whitewashed, just to appeal to a more general audience. The Trojan War was bloody, exciting and is a mythic thing, one of those things that actually contain hundreds of hints about culture and history. Not so this game!
Not Recommended
To be honest, this was one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life. The sound design and graphics are impeccable. Everytime i pressed that 'play' button I was immersed into the world of "Odysseus: Long Way Home". At times I would be playing and I would forget that I wasn't actually in the game. It was incredible. The puzzles are smart with great twists and the story is almost 100% accurate to greek mythology. I hope that whoever purchases this game next appreciates it and loves it as much as I do. Truly a piece of art.
Don't even.
There are some trouble when I use the Hint to help Helios. That hint only show me a wrong way .Some bugs appeared while I was playing the game. Anyway, it still did the job for entertaining me.
I don't like games I never purchased showing up in my library.
This is a hidden object/point and click puzzle/adventure game. It's got an ancient greek theme. Unfortunately, for fans of greek history, the game is far from historically accurate (Tomatoes and watermelons!) Unfortunately, for fans of video games, the game is fixed resolution 4:3 aspect ratio, meaning if you have a widescreen, the aspect is stretched. I can only recommend this game for people still using a 1990's CRT who want to learn Greek mythology, only incorrectly.
