If you've ever wondered what Flappy Bird might be like if it had handcrafted levels set to music and a bespoke artistic direction, Odium to the Core is a game you might want to check out. Though to be clear, while the camera, scrolling and various gameplay elements are synced to the music, this is not a rhythm game in any conventional sense as far as your inputs are concerned. Speaking of inputs, while I did compare the game to Flappy Bird insofar as as it's a one button autoscroller where you avoid hazards, you have much finer continuous control over your acceleration in this game as opposed to discrete jumps or flaps, though of course the flip side is the game also demands increasing precision especially later on. Precision, and occasionally some memorisation. It's really not an easy game, expect to die and retry a lot unless you're very skilled at this kind of thing. The game does try to keep things relatively varied by introducing level mechanics, most notable and challenging by far being the gravity inversion fields. I like the aesthetic too. Also worth noting the soundtrack consists primarily (though not exclusively) of Drum 'n Bass and occasionally dips into Neurofunk and grittier sounds, which is both something I appreciate in itself and something I very seldom hear in video games unlike the more common atmospheric type, so that's neat.
The Core might be one of the worst levels I have ever played. The hit box problems aren't an issue for most of the game, but in this specific level, they are terrible. This level alone makes the game awful and a miserable experience.
Flappy Bird".
ok this game is fun but it lacks of content but i hope that there will be more updates to this game in the future
Nice little flappy bird like game with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' soundtrack
It's definitely one of the hardest games I've ever played, and the music is AMAZING!!!
If you like Drum & Bass and challenging gameplay then this is worth a try.
better than geometry dash
