I hated this game to be honest. Only reason I kept playing was for a couple achievements to save my stats just a bit. The physics are odd and you get punished for using the one control you have in the whole game by losing points. There is no way to predict how high/low the eye will go with a short push on the control since the screen will suddenly tilt out of nowhere. Then you can just sit back and watch youself crash into a wall - Wonderful, sigh. Very luck based and frustrating!

Not reccommending this simply because I feel the description is misleading. The gameplay didn't seem terrible, and the music was great, however, the steam description certainly made it sound as though it would play as a rhythm game... which it is not. As far as I can tell, the music has no real impact on how you play the game, which was certainly disappointing given what I had paid for.
The nightmare levels are several minutes long and do not have checkpoints. Some of them have extremely finicky sections near the end. This leads to hours and hours of playing the same boring level just to get the occasional attempt at the part that is actually difficult. Do not do this to yourself.
Unsatisfying. Your input has nothing to do with the music. You're penalized for providing input. The game shows you the number of orbs in a level but its not like you can go back to get the ones you missed. The controls feel like your character is trudging through mud as it gains/loses intertia as you either press or release the button. Every level I finished showed that I accomplished zero level stars (gears in this game). It feels pretty bad when a level gets beaten and the game always responds with "It looks like you beat the level but you still suck" and a little "bzzt" sound plays like the game is farting in my general direction. It feels like the game doesn't want me to play it. There's no rewards to aim for without replaying levels until memorized and the levels are all on rails. Dying has this noticable freeze frame which is intentional but it feels clunky. Some levels shake the screen which is just obnoxious. Imagine an FPS where the screen shook enough making it impossible to tell where you're shooting. Same idea here except for movement. At least I got it for free from chrono.
I kinda liked this for the first few hours, but: - Awful hitboxes at times. You get killed by stuff that's not even near you. Especially noticeable with things flying by, or hitting you before visually reaching you. -. Lots and lots of cheap kills by stuff that quickly jumps in your face. These can only be countered by memorization, since your character literally cannot switch direction quickly enough. I don't appreciate being faulted for simply not having retried enough times. - Drum'n'bass bores me, but to each their own. There are many things I did appreciate though: - the 3-2-1 countdown you get when unpausing is welcome - nice visuals - the way the action is synched up with the music is pretty good - the multiple ways to ace a level - the unlockable skins
Awesome graphics, beautiful music, but my GOD is it FRUSTRATING Tips that would make the game more bearable: - Make the hitbox match the character, make it smaller. Nothing hurts more than dying when you clearly didn't touch anything - 2 button controls (up and down) so you can go straight when you press nothing. 1 button is too restrictive and it's almost impossible to go straight in a narrow path without dying 1000 times and getting a lucky one through - Add more easier levels for a smoother difficulty curve. All in all, don't buy this game unless you are a perfect AI
I can't say anything bad about the gameplay and visuals, but it's just not my type of game. I got bored with it after few levels. Also, Odium to the Core would be much more fun to play on the mobile than on PC.
Fun and good looking game with dead simple controls.
good game and its worth the money. perfect for the steam deck. i uploaded a custom profile so it can be played with the touchpads
