I liked the quests and items and encountered only a single bug - don't throw canon balls onto switches 😉. I liked Fykonos Island in particular as gameplay and music worked together in bringing back some cool nostalgia.
Single save, lack of any meaningful autosave, then when trying to quit it throws in extra "WAIT BUT SAVE" when you're trying to skip it. Only half of this would be a problem if not for the one-shot choices you have to make which can ruin your entire save file and wasted my entire time playing so far now. Might change my review later if I give it another try, but more annoyed at the game than anything for now. Other faults: The control glitches out regularly. Very little control over hotkeying healing items or removing items from hotkey so I was stuck with bombs hotkeyed and couldn't remove it. Way too many NPCs flooding cities that will give nonsense lines while the map is badly made and gives little to no direction. For trying to imitate old 2d zelda games, this game failed badly to learn many lessons that game did right, so it is inferior by compare. Considering that the whole point of the modern resurgance of this style of gaming is to take what was already good and IMPROVE upon it, this game fails.
Game is currently unplayable with a controller. Can't map keys either. Seems the controllers are mapping as keyboards for this game and is having strange behavior.
I <3 Ocean's Heart
The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap... JAJA SALUDOS.
I don't recommend this game. The controls are not the greatest when playing with a controller. I originally was hooked by the Zelda like game play but once the quests were handed out, I got confused where to go various times. I gave up after getting double and tripple damanged by a NPC because I slid into the enemy's hit box.
This game isn't horrible I just wouldn't recommend this as a game people should play. Exploring is generally enjoyable, and there are a few good music tracks. Unfortunately that is where the good stuff ends. Conceptually there are some interesting spins on the Zelda formula, but technically the game is just so rough. Movement, combat, and hitboxes are all super awkward and clunky. Just at a basic level, moving from room to room doesn't seem to reset enemies or attacks/projectiles. I've exited and reentered a room just to step into a projectile the enemy fired 2 minutes ago. There is garbage everywhere on the ground that you constantly get stuck on or blocked by. Pits and water are like vacuums making any precise movement impossible. Just everything involving the actual gamplay is really poor. The UI and controls are really bizarre and unintuitive. Some menu options don't do what they say (Quit -> Are you sure? -> No -> Quit anyways). Dungeons and puzzles are all super basic and linear. The entire 'action rpg' gameplay loop just doesn't make sense when there is literally no penalty for dying aside from teleporting back to the start of the room. Really just feels like an amateur homage to 2d Zelda without much thought given to the systems or gameplay.
Really good game with lots of secrets and good exploration. Fun items and not too hard of a game.
