About
This is not your average tower defense game. This is Obliterator-X, a brutal tower defense roguelike where you build, scavenge, and survive against relentless mutant hordes across scorched Outback-inspired landscapes. Assign combat drones, loot schematics, and blast through waves of enemies in a game where death is part of the plan and the beginning of your next upgrade path.

In Obliterator-X, every run begins with a short scavenging phase before enemies arrive, letting you explore buildings for loot and choose how to prepare. You will place traps, set turrets, and assign drones to suit your strategy. If you die, you bring back materials, experience, and new upgrades that permanently improve your odds in future runs.
Your time before the wave begins is critical. Use it to loot abandoned rooms, uncover powerful new weapons, and find blueprints for advanced defenses. Drones can be assigned to help you explore or guard key areas, letting you adapt your plan on the fly based on what you find and what is coming.

After each run, return to your base of operations where you can spend collected scrap, electronics, and food to unlock and build new facilities. Each building adds new functionality to the game, such as unlocking a minimap, revealing enemy paths, or increasing the power of your tech. Every structure can also be upgraded, creating long-term progression and new layers of strategy.

Use the skill tree to unlock powerful passive bonuses across four categories: Combat, Defense, Science, and Resources. Improve your stun effects, increase your resource yields, unlock smarter drone behaviors, and more. Every decision you make helps define your playstyle and build toward a stronger survivor.

Each successful run brings you closer to uncovering new parts of the world map. Explore distinct biomes, each with their own enemy types, environmental hazards, and loot opportunities. Whether it's a scorched outback, frozen wasteland, or twisted city ruin, every zone offers new challenges and strategic choices. As you unlock new regions, you will also encounter tougher enemy waves and better gear, encouraging long-term progression and replayability.

Great game, especially for being in Early Access. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys old school video games!
Ugh, this game has problems and I didn't wanna finish it. Its barely got enough to it that I will leave this as recommended but I wish there was more than a pass/fail rating on steam. Id bug them about it if they didn't have bigger legal battles to fight on our behalf. The pacing in this game is really really bad, except for the first 2 missions. Its painfully slow and way to hard to start up with. You require a number of upgrades from leveling together in order to just be able to survive missions even with perfect play. The gameplay loops itself is, yes, fast paced but it ends up just pushing you to run to a few key points then just sit in the middle to fight off mutants. You are forced to backtrack to the first few missions in order to level and gain resources because if you try to stay where you are actually progressed to, you will die within the first few waves and not get hardly any resources or experience for your time and its not fun to hit your head against a wall over and over. The main problem is that your "base" is way to damn squishy. Some mobs will kill it in about 5 hits and you are dealing with waves of hundreds of them. To make matters worse, once you do finally get all the upgrades and unlocks you need plus a good gun (I got a chaingun in mission four and it carried me the whole game) it makes the game way too easy. I really don't wanna go through the New Game + because the game is painfully dull once you know what you are doing. Bigger numbers ain't gunna fix the problem or actually make it more complex. Its tedious. Its got enough to it to be worth it I guess, but its really just barely. Its on the edge. I would recommend buying on sale even with the low cost of 6 dollars. It just doesn't feel like a complete game, but its not horrible either. If it were any more expensive I would not recommend this game and down vote it, however I don't feel thats fair to ruin the recommendation stats of this game because despite its problems its not awful. Its got potential but this game falls flat on its face. Just feels like it needs better balancing and a lot more meat to it. For the developers if you read this, keep at it because you've got something here but theres not enough to really make it feel like it stands out from anything else.
Very good for the price. Great music, rewarding gameplay loop. Definitely recommend
Obliterator - X is tower defence with that feeling of long forgotten flash games. The game has content for a couple hours and is generally small in scale but tightly packed with its systems. Skill system, small town development : all provide bonuses for the next defence mission and Scavenging for new weapons provides some replayability. The tower building system is a little weird ,half because the camera angle and the idea that it is pretty low to the ground ,and half due to terrain or bodies of enemies blocking tiles from being usable. As for the tower defence aspect I will be sceptical if towers or traps can actually stop the entire horde of enemies by themselves ,this task is mostly for the player to solve. Weapons that can be found in the missions …(there are many of them)... are more less imbalanced … having silencer or explosive bullets on them is always better than any other effects … At the end it is a small scale cute game about defending a converter from an evergroving army of mutants. Nice for a couple hours of fun. 7./10 ;+1 if you are a clone.
