About

Do you despise playing scrabble with others? The feeling that everyone knows more words than you? Well, now this time is over. Obgoose is a singleplayer non-competitive scrabble-like game where no one will ever know when you are obtuse.

1. Why am I a goose? Honk! Move by using the arrow keys.
2. My goal? Join letter tiles and form words.
3. What about the points? You score a point, if you are using all letters and build a connected crossword of valid words.
4. The letter tile is in an unreachable position? Push it out of the screen. It will reappear.
5. I got too many bad letters? Push one letter tile into the well. It will punish you by giving two letter tiles back.

I love this game! It's simple yet engaging. First I did not get the mechanic with the well, but after I discovered you can exchange letters there, everything was way better. To play in german is some special fun, as you can combine nearly infinite words so everything can get really long and convoluted. While I love the baba is you style, I'd like the option to turn off the wobbling of the letters, as my brain hurts after a while because of it :D Would be great for accessibility. I also would loooove a co-op! *_*

Unlike Scrabble, Obgoose keeps things simple: letter tiles have no inherent value, there's no "Premium Squares" (for letter or word multipliers), individual letters can be swapped out at any time (with a slight penalty of gaining an additional letter tile), and tiles aren't permanently placed (& therefore can be moved, rearranged, & swapped out as needed). As the letters and words themselves have no value towards scoring, you'll instead gain 1 point each time you utilize all of your letters to form valid words. The game features two different game modes, offering viable options for both competitive & casual players. While both options are solo play experiences with the singular goal of forming words to score points, the Timed Mode allows you to compete against the clock in a race to form as many words as possible within 5 minutes. Conversely, the stress-free Casual Mode boasts no timer, making your imagination and wordsmith skills the only obstacle in scoring. Perhaps the only glaring flaw with Obgoose is the inability to save progress of a casual, timer-less playthrough. Nevertheless, Obgoose remains a delightful & charming treat that's perfect for bite-sized playthroughs when you're craving a mental break from the world. This is a such a great game! I love the whole look and the sounds! The goose is so cute and I enjoyed the simple and straightforward mechanics and rules. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who likes puzzle games or games like scrabble. If I could make some wishes for add-ons that would include: a button to centre the word construction in the middle of the screen in case it's built too much on one side; a function to drag letters which in some cases would be much easier than pushing if the letters are already part a word; different difficulties or even hints for people who are still learning a language; an option to turn off the blinking letters so I could play for longer periods of times :)

A fun and easy to learn game, while I normally struggle with word games I am loving the infinite time mode to help me put some more thoughts behind the words. And looking up the words whenever I accidentally create a word that I did not know the existence of. Would love a save feature in the future, keep up the development <3
the goose is cute the music is simple and doesn't distract, though not for me in its current form I cannot recommend this game for these reasons the entire interface shakes, everywhere continually which doesn't add to the visual appeal the controller movement to place the letters needs work, very ungainly atm the screen is dark and that's great if you are light sensitive, while the letters are white. still bugs a bit but manageable but not good for long sessions having the goose push the letters takes an unnecessary amount of time for this type of game otherwise easy to understand game and play other than things already mention
after an hour of play, i would not recommend this game -- yet!!! i definitely think it will be a stunner if only a little more TLC is given to it. it's a great concept and has a lot of heart (i HATE playing scrabble with other people. they always ruin the next word i want to make). the art is simplistic yet charming, and doesn't distract you from the goal of the game (but an option to toggle the animation on and off would be nice). it has an acceptable beginner's tutorial. the two modes (timed and free) make it comfortable to play no matter what your preference is. it's great -- but the controls and optimization are god awful. there are little to no user friendly features. if you move the goose even one step in the wrong direction, your whole board is a wreck. the goose cannot move around letters if they reach the edge of the screen, and you must instead go all the way around the board to make your next play. the letters can be pushed out of bounds to respawn them in an accessible place if you cannot get around them, but the place they respawn is completely random; they can appear in the middle of two completed words, or three, or four. this requires you to move **every single word** around to get it out... leading back to the first problem of struggling to fix your words once they're interrupted. if some quality of life updates were made, i would absolutely recommend. an undo button, an option to "freeze" words you've already made to stop them from being disrupted, and a way for the goose to enter and exit the space without so much trouble would instantly make my review positive. (p.s. -- the music can get a bit annoying after a while. some more tracks would rock!)

I like this game. It's simple, yet it not boring like other puzzle games tend to be. As I continued playing, I kept strategising more and thinking further ahead. I recommend giving this game a try!
