on pixels: a lights out game is a new spin on the classic puzzle type where the goal is to light everything up on the board. 300 levels are available in 5 game modes with 6 packs of 10 levels in each, so plenty of content, plus you can go for least moves on top of simply completing them. each mode has the first pack and all 10 of its levels unlocked, once they are all done, the entire next pack unlocks, and so on. the 6 packs each represent a shape and they're the same in every mode, so technically you'll have to do 50 levels of the 'ON' shape, 50 moons, 50 smiley faces, and so on, but with different light mechanics. the first mode only has yellow lights, affecting themselves and a light each in the four main directions. the next adds horizontal and vertical pink lights only affecting one light left and right or up and down respectively. the blue light in the third one covers itself and all 8 tiles around it, then red ones are like pink but with every light in that line or column, and orange ones in the last game mode affect every light in that row and column at the same time, like a cross. doesn't sound too complicated and it starts out easy, but gets tricky fast (and stressful too, as far as I'm concerned). baffling, but resolutions and windowed mode are only available in the main menu (alt+enter results in a useless unresizable window) and that's all you can do there, no audio settings at all, yet music starts blaring as soon as you hit play and can only be muted after picking a level and going through the tutorial. no volume settings, of course, only sound on/off and music on/off, plus a grid overlay toggle and back to level selection. I found it annoying that there's no back to level selection button on the victory screen, but esc works at least, or you can go the finicky route and load the next level and select it from the menu there. arrows on the side take you to the previous/next level, but an indicator on the level itself would be nice to see which ones are completed already, even more so because of all the same layouts. there's a tutorial as well, but no undo. clicking the same thing technically retracts your last move, but it also counts as a move, of course. simple, colorful graphics and good music, but song changes are abrupt, very amateurish, often they don't even finish but skip after a few seconds. more than enough content that's bound to get a bit repetitive after a while, since there's not much level variety, but should keep fans of lights out busy for hours, especially at such a low price. not being a fan myself (and that's putting it mildly), I stopped pretty fast though.
Since 1995--thanks to Tiger Electronics and your drunken dad's last-minute Christmas gift--you have been prepared. You've conquered every level on every difficulty in Lights Out. Who knows how many batteries and blisters you've been through, but you've put in the time and you know the rules. But this isn't Lights Out, it's Lights On. "B-but the titl--" No. They had to put that there so you would get the concept. It's Lights On and the rules are different. Overcome the challenge of lighting up neon Pac-Man pellets, pills, crosses, donuts, and bigger pills to save us all from a lightless Christmas. The Good:

The OST sounds like it was recorded in a shack in the Rocky Mountains by a 40-member indie band.
Each level set has its own theme. They're very peaceful for such a tense game, and don't necessarily fit together, but it's more than you get from other minimalist games.
It's a Lights Out game--but with gimmicks!
While the behaviors of the 5 different lights adds to the challenge, the boards shapes adds a fair amount of challenge as well. You can't rely on the more traditional formulae with standard lights out games.
You're not always strictly using 1 type of light in the game. Some stages utilize their respective light and the basic one as well.
The Neutral:

300 levels.
There are 5 types of puzzles, 6 game boards, and 10 levels on each board.
The game snitches on you if you do better than the game intends. What happens then? The dev changes the levels/requirements.
I like the game as is, but it would be interesting if more than 2 types of lights (1 special and 1 normal) were used together. Imagine Donuts, pills, and crosses all together.
The Bad:

Pre-patch cross levels.
Pro Tips:

If you hit a light an even number of times, you know it's one that doesn't have to be used. Forget it.
Try to complete a level and have a couple of lights left? Usually, that shows you where you need to do some of your moves.
I don't know how much the levels changed after the dev patched it, but when I played it it was a challenging experience. Definitely one of my most satisfying game completions and more than worth the asking price of $2.
Gostei bastante.
I really liked this puzzle. I'ts fun, and the soundtrack is enjoyable, i enjoyed my time playing it! I do recommend it.
Nice logic puzzle game. Simple mechanics but varied modes, with plenty of levels for those who enjoy it. For the price, totally worth it.
Remarkably interesting and challenging game!
If you love bit (0 and 1) and logic, you need play this game! Sometimes it's simple and another times it's a terrible. I remember the game " peg solitaire" with another mechanics!
Very good. There are a lot of great puzzles.
