Challenging puzzle turn-based strategy with roguelike elements, bringing fresh gameplay in a form of moves rewind strategy to the table. Don't mind harder start in the form of sparse tutorial and enjoy refining your moves a whole run. This is it. This is the game I've been searching for. After playing Into the breach for an ungodly amount of time I begged the gaming gods for Into the breach 2 or something like it. And they delivered.
Fun puzzle game with nice backdrops. Lots of randomness so can feel a bit "unfair" at times but I am fine with that.
Oakenfold is an incredibly well-made puzzle game that's both addicting and frustratingly difficult. Despite the fact that I kept losing, it had a "One More Turn" level of addictiveness to it that kept me retrying. Full Review: https://dailygamebytes.wordpress.com/2022/11/25/oakenfold-review/
cool, tactical game! I wish more people played this. I won the game in a giveaway from Bitkroeg podcast.
Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series. My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check the brutally hard Turn Based Strategy Game with Time Travel Mechanics called Oakenfold. Oakenfold takes place on a Post Apocalyptic Earth, which has been claimed by a race of monsters called the Biocides. Its up to the player to ensure mankinds survival by gathering the resources to allow mankind to escape their dying world. In order to give the player a fighting chance against overwhelming odds, they have access a Time Displacement Device called the Timescrubber, allowing them to freely travel back in time. Oakenfold is one of the most challenging Strategy Games ive played, requiring constant planning, careful use the crafting system and exploitation of the environment to survive. Please note: All opinions in this video are my own. No i ta grafika, to powinno trafić na NFT!
Good game so far Obviously "a lot" inspired from Into the Breach, so if you like that kind of gameplay, you should like this game too. Its a lot more forgiving due to the TimeBank System. Compared to ItB with all its updates the content is a litte bit small (only 3 Classes might become reduntant fast), but other then that it makes a lot of fun. However, i have one minor "complaint" Played it today with a friend "parallel" with the "weekly challenge" over discord, where we wanted to see who did better. We noticed however that the missions where not the same. We choose the same paths, but got VERY different layouts of the maps. (it was easy to compare since we both streamed our games) Here it would be better (especially since there are leaderboards) if every playthrough would play out in the same way. Sure, the AI can move different, since every player will act differently, but the starting condition of the maps should be the same, otherwise its just not the same "offered challange and choices" and more a "did i get lucky with the map layout".
