O'Fox Life is a simple fifteen minute platformer with 2,500 achievements. The achievements start unlocking the second you start the game and if they stop, you'll have to restart the game to keep the unlock train running. Sitting with the game open it takes about 4 hours for the achievements to be unlocked. For those who are here for a game, its a mess of "developers first game issues," such as when you start the game its shows a "made in GameMaker" followed by a black screen when it goes to full screen. For those lucky enough to get past the black screen, there are plenty of other issues. With that out of the way, its time to discuss the game... its simple, empty and vacant. There are no enemies, the levels all look the same and the game relies on a lot of falling off cliffs. Each level winds in a linear path so you travel, left, right, up and down. Its the down part that becomes an issue as there's no way to look down to "look before you leap." So you have to have a leap of faith over-and-over. Its a problem because you can end up dying in water and sometimes you die in mid air. I'd prefer some sort of terminal velocity that kills the player. When you die its off to the beginning of the level. Oh but you're in luck as there are unlimited lives to make up for what can be seen as completely unfair. To increase the challenge there are background platforms that somehow manage to use the same green grass as the solid blocks you can walk on. I just wish they were a darker color to blend in with the background, but I think the goal of this game was to work with as many free assets without editing them. The game has other issues such as no sound effects or music, which is odd considering the game credits someone to the sound effects. The player never touches the walls, there's always a gap between. The jump will always jump as long as you keep holding the space key. Somehow your character races up bridges faster, but that's not the only issue as sometimes the bridge will stop your movement all together until you jump. It seems like a minor problem. There are a number of things that would enhance the game, such as a clear cut exit. You just walk until you hit a specific wall. It would enhance the game to look more like a tunnel or have a clear cut goal line. The game clocks in at the 15 minute mark before the credits roll and I think having a score or at least a speed run time would benefit the game's short length.

Thumbs down The developer removed most of the achievements in this game and added an achievement which is broken Therefore, we not only lost many achievements but also a perfect game Congratulations! You lost a customer and angered many achievement hunters I won't buy any of your games anymore
👑 Weitere Spielbewertungen 👑
Asset flip with tons of achievements that don't actually unlock for most people. No enemies, no difficulty, no reason to play.
O'Dear
Besides the bad quality of this retro sprite graphic sidescrolling platformer the dev is trolling the achievement community with unreasonable changes. First it had a thousand cheevos, now it's only 360, again 1 achievement broken. Will dev ever get things together?
Asset flip, or not asset flip.. I still have to figure these two words out since I find everything on the Internet.. This game basically runs as a platformer, and has actually some quite enjoyable graphics overall. Ok, bye. The positive things are over.. XD Negative things? Everything else. The controls are quite unresponsive; you don't have any kind of menu (start, about the game and exit are the only three lines of text you will read) and so you're forced to use directional keys to move and space to jump. You'll often fall off the platforms and so on but there's nothing to be worried about. Why? Well, the game consists of eight extremely short levels (about 20-30 minutes overall to beat everything). There are no enemies, you can just die in the water and instantly respawn or things like that. No added difficulty, no bonuses or upgrades. Plus, something that's quite strange even for these crappy games: no sound at all. You read it well. No effects, no background music, nothing. It's the first game I review with absolutely no sound at all on Steam. And for what concerns the achievement spam, it seems that the game resets the clock every time you log off so they're quite random but anyways, if we're here to review and judge the game and only the game, well, it sucks. A lot. It is quite funny that it's intentional. The developer himself, who has only this game on Steam by the way, tells us in the store page that intentionally he hadn't even put the most boring NES platformer music just because the player can relax and put on his favourite Youtube video. Seriously? Are we really that idiot to turn off and on effects or music and put on music by ourselves? I don't really get how this could add something to the "relaxing" value of the game, and the fact that everything's put on the store page seems only a poorly made mockery. And the fact that the achievements - which are of course the only reason that this game has, since it provides only short and stupid platformer levels in which you have to jump for two minutes and everything finishes without enemies or any other kind of thing you can think about - the achievements, as I was saying, are implemented in a buggy way that works differently from player to player and often stop and restarts whenever it wants so that you'll see players with 20 hours on this useless thing spent into idling without even knowing if or when they'll start to pop up. I also heard that many players had problems even to start the game, which is entitled by the way Game Maker - Studio. Definitely much effort from the developer. Anyways I didn't experience such problems, just got thrown into the stupid platformer without purposes. All the levels look quite the same, the graphics is the same, and the mechanics too; they're linear and require you to jump here and there and fall from the cliffs due to the poor response, so that you'll get on again another platform and eventually finish the level and move on to a level looking the same as the one you had just finished. Of course there are other bugs, but since you've got infinite lives - you'll keep on respawning at the beginning though, no checkpoints or anything else - it's not that important if you suddendly die or fall in the water. Sorry for my headaches, but yeah games like these probably don't need long and detailed reviews xD It's just an asset flip (yeah I think I can borrow the word XD), a 2-minutes level without challenge repeated endlessly without any kind of objective or fun/relaxing element. Definitely to avoid if you're looking for a casual, indie platformer.
O'Fox Life — всрѳтый платформер.
O'Fox Life, a fox that goes adventure. This game was part of achievement spam game, so you know how the quality is. +2500 Steam Achievements are available. Oh wait, the developer update this game, so now this game only contains 360 achievements. And the bad news is the achievements still broken. I only get 119 from 360. +It's cheap, especially with discount coupon. -It took about 17 hours for me to get the perfect game. NOTE: To get the perfect game, you just need to idle the game in ONE RUN. So you must idle this game for 17 hours non-stop to get perfect game !!! UPDATE: This information valid for the game that still has 2500 Steam Achievements -Ordinary indie platformer game, not interesting. Only buy if you have discount coupon and want to boost your Steam Achievements. Perfectly not recommended after the update: null/10
