Nurbits is a music puzzle game. You take on the role of a sound engineer responsible for producing music with a robot band. You must fix the wiring in each robot's brain before it can play the song. To do so, you hook up computer chips that send and receive signals the same way that neurons do.

This game is weird, and that is awesome. The concept of 'puzzle' in this game is the one of 'optimization,' because if you stitch here and there not really knowing what you are doing you can easily beat the first few levels of the game, but it becomes clear that you have to be more precise and intuitive if you want to get those three star ratings and finish the game! I definitely recommend this to people who are more used to puzzle games, but if you are looking for the most difficult of challenges, this may not be you... ..., unless you also like music! The musical aspect in this game is more robust than I expected (but I barely know anything about music theory or the sorts, just a heads up) and I enjoy it thoroughly. I felt like a kid again mixing and listening to my own ugly creations, and then editing them over and over; it never gets old for me when a game includs a creative aspect like this one. That said, I do have some gripes with the game, like: -how unwieldy the menus are while creating a song, -not being able to add effects to single loops, -not being ableto hear the song with all the elements while on the brain of a robot (edit: this is wrong, there is totally a way to do this c:), -how the reading bar on the board takes too long to recognize a change or addition in the loop, and many other nitpicks. The presentation is charming at its best, most of the time, and eerie at its worst, but I like it. Gives it a personality I've never seen other games even come close to achieveing. This game is unique, fun and I love it.
8/10 very good. a tad confusing sometimes, but overall an enjoyable game. good for those who like music and robots
I received this game for review through my Surface Pro Gaming Curator group, so first off, let me state that the game runs absolutely perfect on my Surface Pro 2, and the interface works excellent with the stylus. In addition to this, I actually found the game to be quite enjoyable! I only intended to play it for 5-10 minutes to see how well it ran on my Surface Pro 2, but couldn't put it down until I completed the first song! I found the puzzles to be fun, and it's great to build an overall song as you move along. If you're into synthisized music, this game is absolutely a must have. I plan to leave the game installed on my Surface Pro from now on, and I look forward to playing it in my spare time while on the go!
Really unique idea for a puzzle game! It's a great feeling to see all the music come together.
Too bad Steam does not allow a "so-so" choice. First, a bit of information: this is a game about music, but it is not a music game; it is a logic puzzle. Whether you have a bit of musical hear or not does not seem to matter at all (at least up to the second 'song' where I got too bored to continue). From the trailer I got a very different impression; maybe I should have read the description better. As to the logic puzzle, it is original but not very well explained, to put it mildly (let's say guessing the rules is part of the game) and not very exciting, at least for me. Basically, you have to place tokens according to the rules. Some things I found annoying: - The Esc key exits to the main menu (how do you adjust sound volume in mid-game?) and a second Esc press immediately exits from the game, rather than continuing play. - In the second 'song' there are different 'shapes' of notes, but I was unable to find clues about the required shape in some places. Moves that seemed logical were not accepted (decrementing the points available to finish the puzzle). - All sounds are 'synthetic' and self-similar (up to where I played). This could be a matter of personal taste.
Good fun Challenging Game to create the Music for the Robot Band to play.
