City builders seem to be a dime a dozen these days, and although I think that's a very good thing for management/sim lovers such as myself, it can be hard to bring yourself to buy/play yet another one, when everyone already has "their favorite," the game they keep going back to when all else fails (for me it's still Banished even to this day, that game just does something for me.) So looking at Nova Roma, you may wonder, "why this one?" Well, for me it's the Roman setting and simple yet pleasant graphics that made me finally decide to pick it up. The thoughtful city-building and logistics mechanics are what convinced me to stay. I find the game really pleasantly addictive to play. It's challenging without being absurd and deep without being overwhelming. I haven't played very much but I can see myself getting sucked in for a long time to come.

This is a really fun city builder for hardcore lovers of the genre. I love the way that you can arrange the job board to prioritize your workers. Planning and building the water supply is super fun. I'm really looking forward to watching this game develop.

the first time i open the game i just spend over 10 hours straight non stop. i could not feel the time passing. i loved it. the game design is super cool and the sound effects are perfect. the gameplay the creative ideas inside this game is really fun. the multi-layer system. whether you want to chill. or you want intense focus mode both are available in this game. i would love this game to have continuous creative updates and content. i need more. highly recommend it.

Nova Roma is a really fun Early Access city builder that hits a great sweet spot. It’s easy to pick up and get going, which I really appreciate. I’m at a point where I need games to be relatively straightforward, but I still want them to have enough substance to stay engaging. Nova Roma does that really well. The core loop is clear, the progression feels satisfying, and it gives me enough to think about without overwhelming me. It has that “just one more thing” city-builder feeling without making me fight through too much complexity upfront. There’s obviously room for growth since it’s still in Early Access, but the foundation already feels strong. If you like city builders that are approachable, satisfying, and not overly dense, Nova Roma is worth checking out.
