🌍 A world that grows as you learn 🌍
Noun Town island starts in greyscale. Every word you master brings color back to the world - a constant, visible reminder of how far you've come.
🎮 No grinding. Just gaming. 🎮
Your vocabulary builds naturally as you explore 11 distinct areas - the café, beach, farm, food store, and more. Learn "coffee" where you'd order it, say "plastic bag" in the food store, or try saying "goat" on the farm.
🎯 Mini-games that make vocab stick 🎯
Smash robots to learn numbers. Plant flowers to learn colors. Drive a delivery bot through town to learn directions. Every mini-game is purpose-built to teach a specific type of vocabulary through action, not repetition.
🔈 Talk to real characters 🔈
Use speech recognition to hold conversations with 16 unique NPCs - each voiced by native speakers. Order at the café, ask for directions, chat with Bob (the most boring person alive) or Yaya, the kind old lady who's seen it all. Build relationships over time, just like in Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, and unlock more natural, casual conversation as trust grows.
🧪 Science-backed spacing, game-level fun 🧪
Noun Town uses a spaced repetition system to quiz you at exactly the right moments - the same technique behind tools like Anki, but built into gameplay. The "Learning Rush" mini-game puts you behind a shop counter, serving customers who ask for items in your target language. Beat your high score. Lock in your vocab.

The concept is really good, however need a bunch more polish
I've seen from other reviews that it's not great for tonal languages or non-roman alphabet writing systems. However, I've been using it for italian and it's been great to expand basic vocabulary. As these kinds of games go, you must use them on par with other resources or outside language lessons. It's a vocabulary learning game; however, there are areas of opportunity that the devs should look into in order to add verbs or more complex phrases.

I bought this thinking it had Portuguese language learning; It does not. It has Portuguese interface but does not offer Portuguese to learn as a language as of 07/04/2026.
It is extremely easy to bug the game, the dialogues are way fewer than I expected, and there is no way in wich the game helps you study the words of the charachter's dialogues. You can't choose which words to master more, the minigames are very boring and not so many. Sometimes the pronunciation of some words is completely wrong and doesn't help you at all studying it. Nothing is taught about grammar, word formation, alphabet. Just a big pile pf words to repeat until the end of time in a very buggy and boring game. But If you are seeking to learn a language, already have a lot of input apart from this game, then I guess you could technically use it to study the vocabulary of some words. I already speak a sufficient amount of chinese to distinguish words in a sentence, and so for me learning vocabulary is very important. But if I didn't even know how to say "hello" then this game would have been trash... I dream of a game that really helps you learn a language from 0 to infinity and beyond, but it doesn't exist yet, unfortunately. So, do I reccomend this game? If you are good enough to don't care about a language's grammar or technical aspects, then yes, it's a great tool for vocabulary. (Use other sources apart from this during your study btw). But if you are still not good enough and want to learn a language from zero, then no, absolutely not.
蛮好的,涉及各类场景,比较全面。个人更喜欢另一款语言游戏influent的设计,挑战听词找物很有趣,但局限于室内,如果能像Noun Town一样就好了。总的来讲,个人蛮推荐的,适合不急不躁慢慢记单词,积累一些对话,很精致小巧的一款。
definitely a supplement to other language learning but is genuinely fun
Yes, I've had every language.

I guess its a pretty little package to learn new words with if you want to try a different style of learning a language. Would be kinda nice if it was available for mobile so that you could learn on the go
