The style of this game is so cool and is absolutely the best part of the game. I really really love the art direction. The rest of the game, unfortunately, isn't as great. The gameplay is fun at first, but gets old and repetitive quickly. The rhythm also isn't that important to the battles, and sometimes attacks even feel off key. (mainly on some of the later songs). It just feels like a generic hack and slash at times. Some battles like DK West and Sayu feel very original, but others really really don't. The final boss battle for example was a disappointment. And the leadup to the boss battles (fighting lil robots and a bit of platforming) felt like a chore. The story, while charming, honestly isn't that great either. It feels shallow, or generic at best. It's unfortunate I can't fully recommend this game since it's obvious a lot of passion and hard work has been put into it. It was just... boring. Not a bad game at all, but not that good. If you're still interested and want to give it a try, go for it! Maybe just wait for a sale 5/10
maybe this is good as a single player experience for the combat but honestly the wonky camera angles are terrible for a non-online co-op game, the second players experience is majorly tarnished by it, not to mention buggy stuff. we got to the second stage and fell off the cliff and it just spawned us over a hole where we just fell to our death 9 times in a row forcing us to restart the stage, very frustrating for what seems like a decent experience of a game. Also the acting and storyline feel like its intended for a childrens cartoon, maybe kids enjoy this but i honestly found the dialogue and story too intrusive and way overstayed its welcome. and lastly, for a music and rhythm game, there's really no rhythmic part to the players input, it really does kinda feel like a basic hack and slash, very disapointing since it looked like a very fun game but sadly i cannot recommend especially as a co-op experience
Juego entrete, coloridos escenarios, jefes y música.
I love the game and it's soundtrack
Pretty cool game, hope Metronomik make more of then like a NSR 2, or maybe a better version of this game
See, I don't actually think this game is very good. It's one of those games where the music carries the whole thing, and since the setting of the game is Vinyl City that just kind of works out. The combat is terrible, the parrying isn't as satisfying or even as necessary as it should be, the hub world is pointless, the skill tree is pointless, the only thing in the game are the six fights, the story is very underbaked and the art style is too. At the very least the personalities of the characters were very fun, and I liked the voice castings. However, it has the bones of something great. One set of artists trying to oust another set of artists and the music in each fight literally being their own is just too good to not have another swing at, and them being proven to be misguided was a perfect resolution. I'll do it myself if I have to.
DK west is hot ngl
