About
The game is mission-completion third-person action.
This is because you cannot use AIM!
Instead, you can simultaneously fire a shotgun that shoots in front of your character and an automatic tracking missile.
The behavior of the missiles changes depending on the character's direction.
Shoot in various directions!
Also, you can use special moves by consuming "EN", which increases when
missiles are hit!
Nivoz, the mysterious canned robot who follows Juju around.
Nivoz is a mysterious canned robot that follows Juju.
You can also switch control to Nivoz.
You can also use Nivoz's bottomless durability to scout for new locations or use him as a shield...!?
Only while operating Nivoz,
special shots can be activated!
The number of special shots
will increase as the game progresses.
Use each ability to your advantage and win the battle!
Juju, an alien robot living on the planet Hawkia, has had a series of mishaps since the day she met
Nivoz, a robot that looks like a canned food.
A huge building was thrust into the town where she lives, and unfamiliar robots began to run amok.
With the prototype anti-drone gun "W-BLOOM" in her hand, Juju's journey to find a safe place began!

it's hard to describe what morning glows games are like. people like to say ps2 era fromsoft core or dreamcast like but they're more like this surreal window into an alternate reality mix of different retro games. extremely clunky and weird, visually outgoing and really funny. you probably won't find any games that look or feel anything like nivoz, let alone play similarly.
don't stop running little nivoz
esl warning esl warning very confusing game. there's a plot, sort of, it feels like a free doujin you'd read on a site like mangadex where stuff just happens out of nowhere in order to push the story forward or make a dumb joke. the english translation is rough. Parent of the hamburger!? Move aside! there's music, sound effects too!! they're alright. a bit messy perhaps. the sound effect that plays every time you jump is sooooo loud it can get quite annoying depending on your playstyle. the gameplay is by far the most thought out aspect of the game. it's quite clunky but very satisfying once you get the hang of it, it plays like a overly ambitious psp game, shoulder button camera controls and all. your basic attack consists of heat seeking missiles that lock on to the nearest enemy, they deal more damage the closest you are to said enemy so you're encouraged to play aggressively to maximize dps. there's also a very basic level up system that let's you trade health for ammo and 'EN' which, again, encourages aggressive play. 'EN', which i think stands for energy, is what you need in order to perform special moves. these are your main source of damage against bosses and tougher enemies, and i think they were done quite well! NIVOZ (your little robot companion) can't do anything by himself, but he serves as a beacon for your special moves, you have to manually change control to him and line him up with whatever you want to hit, leaving you vulnerable in the process. he also enables you to jump (and consequently glide) so you want him near you in order to escape dangerous situations quickly. i like this mechanic a lot, having to juggle control between two different characters in order to get optimal damage was very engaging and it really shines during boss fights. sadly that's all the depth there is to it, NIVOZ doesn't have any unique moves, or any moves at all really, he's just a walking crosshair/jump pad. there's some nice enemy variety however the level design is a bit flat, usually just a big square filled with enemies, there's no verticality or platforming at all, you can't even fall off any of the stages. boss fights were pretty good! they made the last stretch of the game very enjoyable. definitely a highlight. and that's about it for Nivoz Running Canned. get it, struggle with the controls for a bit, and then beat it in a single afternoon.
This is the most fun I've had with a game in a while (I'm serious). It probably isn't intentional but this game is a bit weird so who knows. I will provide the basic gameplay loop then explain why I am a huge fan. You shoot rockets at enemies. If you hit you get 1 EN to use your special weapon, aimed by switching to Nivoz and walking it to where you want to shoot while Juju stands in place like an idiot (you get used to it). Each rocket has an extra short range attack if you get close for more damage. Enemies can destroy your rockets with their projectiles so you want to curve them. You can't control what enemy you are locked onto though and it can be really annoying. So why is this game sick? About halfway through you unlock the handgun. Fun has been acquired. Want to kill multiple enemies with 1 shot (yes it actually fires 2 shots, shut up)? This thing pierces through enemies. Oh, and walls too. Yes you read that right. Control your body fluids. The handgun is secretly a sniper rifle that doesn't care about the suggestion that walls exist. It's simple. It fires in a perfectly straight line from where Juju stands so you have to be at the same height as your target. Hide. Send in Nivoz to line it up (and make sure you are still in range, there is a line that shows you) and that's it. Nothing has a chance when the laws of walls cease to exist for only you. Cooperation has never been so powerful. I am now realizing at this point it probably wasn't that interesting. Hey, in mission 28 you can clip through some of the buildings and go out of bounds (and still beat it because handgun)! Also there is a vacuum special that fires a bunch of lasers while you glide around and controls like ♥♥♥♥, but I got hit out of it once and could fire lasers from my rocket launcher for a moment. The vacuum might also be secretly insane. This game has a lot of jank and takes getting used to. The update that added shooting while jumping has helped a little with how weird/clunky it feels to play sometimes. I played through the game 3 times and I enjoyed just messing around with the different specials. The only thing important to mention is the camera. It moves in a way that my head didn't like and some fixed angles are at a weird slant. I actually started to feel sick a couple times but I liked the game enough to keep going and get used to it. Just a warning to other people who get motion sick. The main menu shows you exp points. Why? No clue. But as you play you keep getting more health and unlock options to cap your health as well as have more ammo/EN but they reduce your max health. Please don't nerf the funny handgun.
