Yessssss, finally this game has to buy on steam, i love this game, i played it a lot when i was a kid on my old windows 98 the game works perfectly!!!! tested on windows 11!
I guess if you're stuck in the 90's and have nothing better to play on your PC.
Here's what you do:
This is a top-down racing game. You can have up to 3 human players. Camera options include a shared full view of the track or a zoomed in split-screen. Controls are accelerate, turn left, turn right, brake, and nitro. There are two race modes: arcade and management. In arcade, you just go from one track to the next racing. Nitros will randomly appear on the track and you can run over them to pick them up to use when you want. In management mode, you also need to manage your fuel and damage by dropping into the pit stop. There is also money that appears on the track just like the nitros. I think the money is to upgrade your vehicle, but if you don't do well enough, you can't continue to the next race anyway, so I can't tell you how that goes.
What I like:
+ The game has a lot of tracks. The steam page says 30, but I don't know if that includes variations of the same tracks or not (like reverse or mirrored). For the 30 minutes I played, I did not come across a repeated track. The caveat to this is the track order is the same every time you play and you can't pick which track you want to race on. + The game lets you name the first three players (the ones that can be human controlled).
What I don't like:
- It did not recognize all the buttons on my xbox controller. It recognized A and B, but nothing else, so I had to stick with keyboard control instead of trying to find a solution for it. I recommend you change the keyboard controls right away because the default is z/x to steer, shift to accelerate (only the left shift worked when I was playing), and enter to use nitro (if right shift worked this would be okay). - The steering is super slippery. You have to start turning before every turn in the road. Good luck trying to get into the pit stop if you miss it because trying to turn around is like driving on ice. Also the collision physics make me want to rage. - Three difficulty modes set the number of racers to 4 on easy, 6 on normal, and 8 on hard. The CPU difficulty seems to be the same on all, it just changes how badly you can lose. I was struggling on easy the whole time. - I don't like how often a section of the track will go under a bridge where you can't see your car and if you're colliding with another car, good luck figuring out how to not hit a wall. - Most races are six laps long, which feels like it takes forever. One track is a literal circle and lasts for 10 laps or so. I forgot to look at the lap count at the start, then I looked up later thinking it should be done soon only to see there were 6 more laps to go.
Conclusion:
I do not recommend this game. There are better top-down single-screen racing games to play with more game modes and better features. This game is simply a relic of the past.
