Good game ^^
Great gameplay, combat, but story is a bit lacking. 8/10
good
ok
First, the mixed feelings part: Felt a bit easier than the second game, imo, that's what "open world" does to souls like games. Being able to go around and farm a bit and then overpower the bosses and enemies it's a "downside" to that, but you can always ~not do that. The bad: This is NOT metroidvania, at least it shouldn't be. Having to backtrack to earlier areas because only now at the end you've unlocked the ability to access somewhere where you couldn't before SUCKS. If I wanted a metroidvania I'd go play a metroidvania, this was a design choice and imo a terrible one The good: Combat is amazing and fun, despite losing a few mechanics in order to add that "ninja style" (which I started treating as a cheating style at the end). I miss the quarterstaff stances... Overall didn't encounter many bugs or performance issues, despite other reviews saying otherwise. Maybe my specific choice of hardware was blessed? Don't know, but I played most of the game on ultra or high specs, although admittedly I reduced the graphics on few specifics bosses where it was way too much particle effects. There isn't much replayability yet, stopped at nearly the mid of the second playthrough because there wasn't nothing really new or more challenging, just different colored gear with more stats. All and all, I give this game a 7,5 out of baldurs gate 3. Can be worth full price, but a 10% discount or more is optimal
