The game has some great sandbox mechanics.. but its survival mode is just completely dull. The missions are not fun or interesting at all and they do not encourage you to get particularly creative with your designs. The threat mechanic also feels a little frustrating, discouraging exploration.
The "programmer" captain in the campaign mode makes this game even better. You can literally create any drone you can think of. The only thing it's missing is a few logic components and maybe some sensors. But it's a very nice experience. And the multiplayer mode is also pretty good,

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I started my journey with the Programmer captain, and it’s been quite a challenge to complete some of the missions. The best part is that you can fully unleash your imagination and logic to build your own drone—it’s a dream for players who love programming. However, the story is a bit thin and the missions can feel repetitive. If you’re not playing as the Programmer, the grind might get boring quickly.
This games controls are much harder then it looked from videos and it is frustrating to move around, so I tried and failed to refund it and now I guess im just stuck with this game. Don't buy this game you cant refund it and the controls are very bad.
the game has great potential but its just not there, the balance is not good. im sure a lot of peoople would have fun with it but for myself and i imaging a large swath of people its just not great.
Random part usages and interactions aren't clear; game forces you to choose a pilot class and, if you mess up and choose fully autonomous, your ship does nothing (even loaded up with sensors) and you effectively have to start the game again from scratch.. fully autonomous doesn't mean intermittent triggers of random parts will result in accomplishing any given mission, so it's confusing to have as an option: I fail to see how even an "expert" could setup a ship to do 'anything at all' autonomously, if the game's not intuitive enough to make it obvious how to get an autonomous drone to fire a single thruster. Further, the game warns you that you have too many parts attached to the same part which may cause instability; yet everything seems to attach to the main base core anyway- so it's also confusing as to what you're supposed to do with what's provided; as everything I built seems functional, yet I get reminded through icons that my build isn't ideal. They should give you a tutorial overview of a build which employs all part types and demonstrates how each part interacts, instead of skimming over the shallow basics- then hinting at more tutorial interactions. Since it's been about 6 months, it's unlikely this game will get any more attention from the studio, which is probably why they're dropping it to $5; yet I'm less interested in trying to figure out what all the random parts are for, when the game fails to make it clear as to their use-cases and, apparently, it's expected that players will have to watch tutorial vids on youtube just to figure out things that aren't worth figuring out.
Very fun game. I don't have anything else to say. 5 stars.
Controls make absolutely no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense, You press left and the drone turns right, and vice-versa. I tried maybe 20 different types of orientation of the thrusters, from the obvious placement that in any other game of the kind works to the absurd. The effects on the ship maneuverability went from bad to worse then to ridiculous and finally to retarded, I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ the developers are doing. I play games like this all the time, and I have not been this frustrated with a game design in ages, if you want a good space game, this is clearly not it,
While Nimbatus offers a decent amount of ship customization and build variety, it doesn't quite break the gold standard set by Gimbal. Sadly the singleplayer mode severely hinders your enjoyment of that customization. The massive flashy builds shown in the trailer is paced way too far into the game than you'd expect, and the surprisingly unforgiving early game just doesn't help it. While the multiplayer is likely more fun, if you are looking for that specific experience, you might as well just play Gimbal. Ultimately, the game deserves its "Mostly Positive" rating; I don't doubt that the game's alright if you stick with it, but not everyone has that kind of time and patience.
This game is really not what it markets itself to be. I expected a game about progressively getting better at constructing, mining, fighting, etc. Instead of a build-a-ship FTL clone. If that sounds interesting to you, don't bother. It's bad at being a build-a-ship FTL clone.
