You step off the marked trail and a rockfall seals your way back. You begin to follow faint signs through a darkening forest, shadowed by something that knows these woods, and learn why places like this go unreported or why no one returns...

About

Nightmare Visions: Chapter 2 is not a traditional horror game.
This is a narrative horror experience, not a survival challenge.
You’re not here to escape. You’re here to witness. No skip buttons.
Developed entirely by one person
If you're ready for something different, press play.
Total Playtime Approx. 1 Hour-2 Hours (Depending on Playstyle).
Each chapter explores a new character, a new setting, and a new psychological thread woven into the same unnerving universe.
Story
This is not a game of combat or escape. It is a slow-burning descent into an atmosphere of unease, where story and tension unfold through exploration and observation. Every object, every symbol, and every shadowed corner tells a part of a larger, unsettling truth.
Chapter 2 dives into the story of a hiker that goes off-trail, she must find a way out.
Witness what she experienced.
Nightmare Visions is meant to be experienced as a "one off" story, while saving your game is planned for a future update, please try to finish the experience to the fullest first, based on the style of V/H/S films.

I can see a lot of improvements were made from Chapter 1, game is a lot longer too. I'll be coming back to finish it, the forest scares me.
I tried playing this for a half hour. I had to set the quality to "low" for it to be able to run properly, but even then it would have trouble with the frame rate. Also the sound effects seemed like they were downloaded from a "free download SFX" website and there was no bother to put any effects on the audio. There seemed to be so much sharpness on the quality, everything just looked white; it was just hard to look at, no matter the quality setting. I believe this is due to the amount of trees with so many leaves in such a tight space, I have had a similar experience with 7 Days to Die where I planted trees every 3x3 blocks. It would slow down the frame rate one I got close to them when they were fully grown. I would suggest for the next game to have less trees.
Game is SUPER poorly made. After the travesty that was the first Chapter, I expected the dev to learn and make improvements. They did not. The game is INSANELY harsh to even look at. The VHS filter with the environment makes it headache-inducing. The environments are also ridiculously dark without a flashlight (which you do eventually get). The game gives you no indication of what you are supposed to be doing, and it is incredibly easy to sequence break. To top it all off, I got softlocked because I couldn't even pick up the Wolf statue, forcing me to quit and reload only to find out the game has zero saves. Charging $9 CAD for this is WILD. Refunded.
Just beat the game. A magnificent realistic horror game where you are stalked by a fleshy spider alien, big giant alien & a surprise alien at the end which amazed me. Its the perfect follow up to the 1st game, sup super trippy visuals, mysteries alien structure bone caverns, sonic boots & many funny and bloody cool moments. Absolutely love 1st & 2nd chapter, gotta say 1st still my fav just cus i loved the alien ufo vibe but this one has a bit more content than the 1st and a bigger level to explore, 10/10 experience!
This is obviously a V/H/S film tribute but with Cryptids, if you didn't like those films you probably won't like Nightmare Visions. And that's okay, that being said, the developer is constantly trying to fix bugs and the save game seems to be planned as well according to the description. Indie gaming requires support so make sure you support as much as you can for better content!
It'a a body-cam game that looks grainy/fuzzy. awful head-bob that makes you sick. voice acting sounds like a 12yr old on COD. no continue or save feature. Sometimes can't pick up items like the lighter that you need to progress the game. Also I picked up a note and was unable to put it down, had to control-alt-delete to exit, even esc didn't work, so I had to restart the game Once again couldn't pick up the lighter, started again and still couldn't pick up the lighter, rage quit at that point. needs a lot of fixing. Should of been free like Chapter 1 https://youtu.be/RypKu2LsKFY
