I downloaded this game without many expectations;I was just intrigued by its dark, dreamlike aesthetic. Turns out it was one of the best decisions I could’ve made. Though short, the experience was truly thrilling, with spikes of anxiety and tension, and at times a bit of frustration when I couldn’t quite grasp what was going on. But with some patience and perseverance, everything falls into place and starts to make sense. A Lynchian nightmare with echoes of Svankmajer’s sculptural art. A small self-produced gem that deserves far more attention. The backstage artbook at the end is unmissable, packed with curiosities and interesting insights. I loved reading every single page. Needless to say, I now have to catch up on the series mentioned in the game, which I didn’t know existed. Kudos, this is a truly unique and original game!
★★★☆☆ Atmosphere top tier. Gameplay not so much. Night Shift has a very abstract, weird and surprisingly interesting atmosphere. Visually, it’s definately strong. Moody, unsettling and memorable. Everything feels slightly wrong in a positive way. You keep watching the channels, expecting something to shift or something to break through the static.. But the gameplay drags. You walk around, switch channel, adjust the satellite every few minutes and at night time you meet entities, like crawling hands. That’s it. No clear rules, no explained mechanics and the objectives are barely communicated. It’s monotonous and slow with no satisfying payoff. The experience didn’t grab me through gameplay at all. It’s worth a look for the visuals and atmosphere but not for how it plays. Recommended only if you care more about tone than interaction.

Night Signal does its best trying to nail the late night television programming that you'd often see as a kid while incorporating a little bit of The Twilight Zone in a clay animation aesthetic. Although it's a short experience, I think that it delivers on what it set out to do without becoming stale or frustrating. Having each channel do something different like spawning enemies, changing the layout of the room, or put an effect on the player makes you strategize flipping through the channels and genuinely interested to see what is yet to come. That being said, the combat is a bit wonky and some effects will still play out even after the game is 'paused' while others wont. I really enjoyed playing Night Signal and if this developer's games are just as creative, I'll definitely be checking them out.
Interesting, weird and spooky. Its always fun watching an indie dev who wants to make weird fellas cook, I enjoyed my time with Night signal a lot and I think if you like critters and weird almost analog horror kinda stuff, you will too!
I just finished Night Signal. I have to say. This is the most weirdest, and uncanny indie horror game I've ever played. I don't know how to describe what I saw in this game, but while it is slow paced. the experience is what makes this game worth it. the sound, and art design fits really well for the genre they went with. Also I won't spoil, but the ending is not what you expect it to be. It would leave some in confusion. Buy this game if you love TV, and need a random show to watch that isn't on your actual TV
Yes, but it needs a lower price for what is offered
It's interesting and it looks cool, but it's just not very fun. Here's my video so you can decide for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbVSY-oqIC4
Making enemies being able to kill you in a psychological experience seems counter intuitive.
Extremely creative games, i love the clay models. 9/10, i hate the hands.
I don't think I've ever posted a review before, but I just had to based on the pure coincidence of when I played this. This has been sitting in my Steam library for quite a while (I got it on sale bundled with Home Safety Hotline). I randomly decided to play today (date November 8th), and [mild spoiler, but not really] the dates November 7th - 9th show up at the end of the game. Delightful little coincidence that prompted me to share. Anyways, fun little unsettling game if you get it at a discount. Requires a bit of self-teaching and pattern recognition to understand what's actually going on, but you can come up with some strategy to complete it which is nice.
