Night of the Dead is a decent zombie survival game — nothing groundbreaking, but definitely above average. It has the usual mix of building, crafting, looting, defending your base and surviving waves of zombies, and most of those systems work well enough to keep the game enjoyable. What I like most is preparing your defenses and watching the hordes come in. Building traps, improving your base and getting ready for the next attack gives the game a satisfying rhythm. At the same time, it never really reached the point where I thought, “Wow, this is something special.” There are better survival games out there, and there are also much worse ones. So for me, Night of the Dead sits comfortably in the better-than-average category. Not a masterpiece, not a disappointment — just a solid zombie survival game that can be fun if you enjoy the genre.
