My play time is 24.6 hours most of that is accidentally leaving the game on for a day and a half on my steam link, it is closer to about 6 hours. First time I played a HOG that had a 3D graphics engine. Having a 3D engine allowed for some reflex and QTE, which seemed like they added them to just waste time, seriously 3 minute timer of clicking on rats?..... Some of the puzzles didn't make sense so I skipped them, especially the valve and water puzzle. Anyway I'll always recommend a HOG because they help strengthen the brain by solving puzzles. This one is mediocre
Night Mysteries: The Amphora Prisoner, developed and published by Anvate Games, is a compact mystery-driven experience that blends hidden object gameplay with light puzzle-solving and exploration, all set within the confined and atmospheric environment of a cargo ship. It follows a familiar formula within the genre but attempts to distinguish itself through its use of a fully navigable 3D space and a focus on mood-driven storytelling. The narrative centers on Natalie, a writer who unexpectedly finds herself aboard a cargo vessel after missing her intended journey home. What initially appears to be a simple detour quickly evolves into a supernatural mystery involving a strange artifact and a series of unexplained events that affect both the ship and its crew. The story unfolds gradually as players explore the environment, uncovering clues and piecing together what has happened. While the plot relies on recognizable tropes of isolation and hidden danger, it maintains enough intrigue to carry the experience from beginning to end. Gameplay is structured around a combination of hidden object sequences, item collection, and puzzle-solving. Players move between different areas of the ship, searching for key objects, interacting with the environment, and completing a variety of minigames. The puzzles are generally straightforward and designed to be accessible, ensuring that progression remains smooth and rarely frustrating. This approach makes the game approachable for a wide audience, though it also means that the level of challenge remains relatively low throughout the experience. One of the more distinctive elements is the use of a 3D environment, which allows players to navigate the ship in a more immersive way compared to the static scenes typical of many hidden object games. This design choice gives the setting a greater sense of scale and continuity, making the ship feel like a cohesive space rather than a series of disconnected screens. However, this approach is not without its drawbacks, as movement and interaction can occasionally feel less precise, particularly when locating objects or navigating tighter spaces. Atmosphere is a key strength of the game. The confined setting, combined with subtle audio cues and a gradual buildup of tension, creates a persistent sense of unease. The game avoids relying heavily on sudden shocks, instead focusing on mood and anticipation to maintain engagement. The sound design plays an important role in this, using ambient noise and music to reinforce the feeling of isolation and mystery. Despite these strengths, the experience can feel somewhat repetitive over time. The core gameplay loop—searching for objects, solving simple puzzles, and moving between locations—does not evolve significantly, which can reduce its impact during longer sessions. Backtracking between areas is occasionally required, and the lack of clear direction at certain points can disrupt the pacing. Additionally, while the narrative is engaging, it does not fully explore its ideas, leaving some elements feeling underdeveloped by the conclusion. Visually, the game presents a functional style that supports its setting without standing out. The environments are detailed enough to convey the atmosphere of the ship, though character models and animations are relatively basic. The overall presentation is consistent, even if it lacks the polish of more modern titles. The audio, on the other hand, contributes more strongly to the experience, enhancing immersion and reinforcing the tone. Ultimately, Night Mysteries: The Amphora Prisoner is a straightforward and atmospheric hidden object adventure that succeeds in delivering a focused and accessible experience. Its strengths lie in its setting and mood, offering a brief but engaging journey through a mysterious and isolated environment. However, its reliance on familiar mechanics, limited complexity, and uneven pacing prevent it from standing out within the genre. It is best suited for players looking for a short, story-driven experience rather than a deeply challenging or innovative one. Rating: 6/10
A fairly decent game. Would rate about 7/10. There were some annoying features like the fact that you can't pick up things until you need them, which made gameplay very linear. That said, the game had a decent storyline and introduced some mini-games that aren't typical of hidden object games which made the experience more interesting.
Positive: The story is decent though a bit uninteresting and all over the place( for example there's a last minute romance scene coming out of nowhere). The hidden objects scene are ok Negative: The puzzles are not only terrrible but they also don't really fit into the gameplay. What i mean is that instead of complementing the settings and overall gameplay it seem these two get put on hold in order for you to solve a pointless and often frustrating puzzle with the only saving grace being that they are in very low quantity. t.l.d.r: I feel like a mixed rating fits this game, if you like ho games buy it on discount otherwise don't buy it at all.

Artwork, graphics: 6/10 Map: no hints, not navigable HOS: plenty and dull Puzzles: few and nothing special
some random ♥♥♥♥. likable story and playable tho.
I liked this playing this game a lot. It's short but very good game. ːheart_eyes_mechanicː 5/5 ⭐ Pros + well written story + Graphics
Another short HOG adventure (~2h). Animations vary between scrolling environmental CG and hand-drawn animation. More point-and-click adventure with puzzles, engaging. Terrible :: finger-quotes :: ghosts, but this seems to be more about the atmosphere and suspense. An engaging, short romp.
