Okay so this game is certainly an experience. First off, the first hour or so of the game is dare I say quite bad. You have no idea what's going on, the puzzles make no sense and feel like they weren't playtested (even though they probably were), there was barely any music at all and if there were it was super quiet and it just felt so bland and boring, I was just trying to somehow make my way through the early parts of this game. If it was like this for the whole game this wouldn't be a positive review. However this game gets much better the longer it goes on for, the developer probably got a lot better over time since in the second half of the game it really picks up steam. Suddenly the puzzles make sense and while the story remains cryptic- which is a matter of preference- you start knowing just enough to make it make more sense. The enviroments in the second part of the game are also more varied and interesting and there is finally some music, which is actually pretty good. Sound effects remain few and far between but with the music I think it was alright. The art of the game is also neat, it encapsulates the style the developer was going for very well. Two more criticism that I do have is that some of the few sound effects and ambiences that exists are way louder than the others, the volume levels don't seem balanced correctly and that as the game goes on the characters internal monologue starts to stammer way too much and it makes it feel repetitive, it doesn't even make sense since it's just an internal monologue. In general the dialogue can feel a bit repetitive at some points and I noticed a few spelling errors, but It didn't really impact my enjoyment of the game. There's also a compat system which I feel is pretty fun, it just gets underutilized in the first half of the game and most attacks are faily similar. There's also not a lot of ways to increase your attack, which was fine but then why would the ATK statistic even be shown in the first place? Regarding the story, as I mentioned before it's faily cryptic but once you get to the end it more or less does click and it conveys a lot of emotion while saying little, so it is well executed, it just starts off rough, and since this is a short game I feel like the rough start takes up almost half of the playtime. I think the first half of the game should have been redone and brought up to par with the second half. All in all this is a fine game, it has a rough start but the second half is a great experience so I would recommend playing it if you can stomach playing until it gets good. As the developers first commercial game, I would say that this is good start.

Aside from great art and interesting story. Thank you for - A long boring series of non skippable dialogue (why you wanna put everything into it?) - Black screen simulator - M--my----head! simulator - Can't even skip the long piano scene??? - Map mechanic. That wall spike when you get up from a blood pool and it one shots you instantly and you need to fight that 2 monsters again Almost a cult title but something ruins it
Wonderful game, it really was not what I was expecting. I enjoyed it very much, in all honesty I did not get much from the story of the game, but I can say that it conveyed feelings very nicely, I felt like I was on edge when the game wanted to be intense, and I felt sad when the game wanted to be sad, so really nice on that end! I LOVED the music a lot and I wish we could have the OST, I would be willing to pay money for it! It was so great. Nice little game!
This is one of those games on steam that makes me wish for the ability to give a neutral score. A beautiful art style, interesting setting, and a admittedly vague but interesting story is weighed down by mediocre gameplay and braindead easy puzzles. I liked the first half of the game but after the part in the hospital where you lose your arms and inventory getting through the rest of the game turned into a massive slog of going through a dozen uninteresting dark rooms where you just kinda run around doing "puzzles" and clicking the attack button on enemies. It has genuine potential but its pacing makes me reluctant to recommend it unless you like these sorts of games enough to put with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I've seen other reviews explain what makes this game great and where there are needs in tune up. Without benefit of the doubt, you have made a BEAUTIFUL game! It has an investing visual marriage of Undertale's, Submachine's, and Neverending Nightmares' styles. I have played enough of the game to know you have great potential. Sadly there are small things that hopefully can be improved upon in your future projects. The Story: I don't fully understand what is happening in terms of the story. It felt like a small hassle to keep up with the relationship of our character with the other two (wife and child..?). The Puzzles: I found a few of the puzzles enjoyable, others I either wound up brute forcing (the four word one), getting lost and spammed interact (the jail cells), or didn't realize I did a puzzle (exploring the house and trees for the disc and knife). Combat: The reduction of max health for every enemy killed felt awkward to me. It comes off as punishing the player while initially not explaining why. A quick remedy could have been that initial fight (that acted as a tutorial to me) pointing out the burden of others weighs heavy on you, choose your fights wisely. Items were also confusing from lack of description in what they did, accidentally using all of my heals when experimenting to see what they did yet haven't lost health yet to see that effect. For a $5 game, I feel this game is pretty great. Getting to see your dev logs and watching it grow while this game sat in my wishlist was exciting to say the least. For this being your first game, I am very proud of you for what you have made. I'll be looking forward to trying your next game.
Un juego intersante. Juego de puzles sencillos que se puede completar en una sentada o dos. El mundo es depresivo como pocos y una trama que juega entre la sencillez y el ser críptico. Personalmente no me causó mucho terror. A parte de los puzles tiene un sistema de combate que recuerda mucho a Undertale.
a neat little heartfelt game that's well worth the money
A lot of the game felt very tedious.
Not really for anyone in particular, but a game about the feelings of regret and finding the strength to move past despite it all. Thank you dev for sharing your feelings about it, and keep on keepin' on. All of the story is implied (though I don't think it's that hard to figure out the general gist of the story,) takes a lot of inspiration from UNDERTALE and FAITH, nothing too difficult, nothing too grand either; a simple game, really. Though I can't particularly say I recommend it, but I think it was worth buying the dev some lunch money for.
Cool little game
