https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1409530/view/666113645632029306 I hope dev will live a happy life. At the same time I cannot recommend a game that was in early access for two years without updates and then got marked as "full release".
Please don't listen to some of these negative reviews. Yes the dev took it out of early access because he could not continue to develop it, but to call it "abandonware" is ridiculous. For under $5, you have a solid arcade style game you can pick up and play with lots of different spells and passives. There are also scaling difficulties to it, enemy variants and 3 playable characters that are fun in their own ways. There is enough game in it for me to put 24 hours of my life into it and I still pop in once in a while to play a run or two and again its 5 frigging dollars. I could understand the criticisms if it was an expensive game that wasn't anywhere near finished, but Neophyte as it stands has a complete game in it. Sure it could have more content, but there is plenty packed into the price tag and pretty much every game could have more content. Some of you people need to be realistic, learn some empathy and grow up. When your whole life gets completely turned upside down abruptly and drastically, I would love to see how you continue to do your passion projects and manage yourselves.

The game is still in Early Access, the dev has just given up and erroneously claimed a full release with zero updates in over 2 years. https://steamcommunity.com/games/1409530/announcements/detail/666113645632029307 "Therefore, I will be releasing the game out of early access shortly without any updates for the foreseeable future." Doing this should be against Steam's TOS. The game is unfinished, and there's more fun games anyway.
Officialy abandoned
Abandonware
Abondonware.
Decent game for the price. There's enough in here to justify $3, but everyone should just be aware that the game appears to be abandoned by the dev.
Fully released after no updates, abandonware.
Abandoned. Developer tries to explain what happened in his announcement, which however does not explain releasing the game in this sorry ass state. Bad stuff happens to everybody, I am genuinely sorry that all of that happened to you mr. Developer, especially regarding your mother, however you could have just left the game as an early access before you get your ♥♥♥♥ together and then continue on it. There are 10s to 100s of EA games like that without and update for several years, where developer suddenly comes back to complete the game. Just one of the ending sentences: "However, I am glad to say that this isn't the end of my game development career." rings insanely huge alarm bells. Why should/would anyone ever support you after this is beyond me. Where's the assurance that you will not do the same exact thing? It would be extremely foolish to believe anything the developer spouts from now on. Literally the only positive thing is that I've only wasted 2.5 euro on this.
Abandonware. Cool concept and decent quality for what's there, but no updates in two years. It's very much unfinished and as such I cannot recommend anyone pay money for this in good conscience in this state. The developer's first game and it's abandonware. Not a good look, Regal Pigeon.
