Neon Void Runner is a concept for the makings of a potentially great game. I love the visual style, with its Retro-Futuristic polygon background and the light trail is reminiscent of the old Tron movie. The Synthwave sound track compliments it nicely. The energy blaster feels freaking powerful. The gravity boots to cut a jump short in order to time the next jump is a nice touch. It’s a shame it never got further developed into a real game as there is just not much content to play with. There are only 6 levels and half of them just feel like repeats of the first levels and even re-use the same 3 music tracks. There are no enemies, no story, no boss fights, and ultimately no real reason to keep playing. The cool energy blaster gun can only destroy a blocking wall – what a waste. The game ends up feeling like shovelware to be released quickly as a cash grab. With more development work it could have been something much larger than just another +1 for some OtakuMaker bundle. As such, I can only recommend getting this game if it comes in a bundle.

Bad game. Boring. The graphic is okey, but the sounds are boring. No story or achievement.
I got this game through a giveaway. Which is good because I would be requesting a refund if I spent money on this. Sure its got a stylish look, but there is very little of substance here. The gameplay is monotonous and not very challenging, all the levels appear to look the same and there is no sense or progress or satisfaction to be had. Skip this one, unless its free and you're really really bored (If you're wondering why its show that I have so much playtime its because I didn't close the window while I was working on somehing else. FYI the game does not have 2 hours of content.)
So, what is the meaning of this game?
Beautiful graphics, Solid gameplay in my opinion, and using a the energy ball move to get through some that looks like glass seems very original and i really like that. Highly reccomended.
fun to play tbh
